“Who’s next” for Goldberg? Sounds like it won’t be a WWE superstar as a report reveals the WWE Hall of Famer is officially a free agent. Plus, could Nia Jax head to AEW?

Goldberg Is A Free Agent

According to Fightful Select, Goldberg is a free agent. In fact, his WWE deal expired at the end of 2022.

This means he’d “officially” been on the market since January 2023. The report notes that no deal was reached to renew or extend his WWE contract.

Even more interesting was the fact that he only competed in one match in 2022. This was at the Elimination Chamber (EC) in February of that year.

At EC, he wrestled Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal title. A match, he lost.

Ten months remained on Goldberg’s WWE deal from his last match. Regardless, his last run with the WWE was a major one.

Goldberg Is A Free Agent … So, What’s Next?

Since the beginning of 2020, including his EC match, Goldberg wrestled only six bouts in total. Half of those didn’t pass the three-minute mark.

With that said, the 56-year-old has hit some major WWE milestones in recent years. He has won the Universal Championship twice since 2017.

Will he head to AEW? Fightful does state that there have been rumors that the promotion has been interested in Goldberg, since 2019.

With that said, the report confirmed nothing. Fans will have to wait and see.

Speaking of AEW, could Nia Jax head to the company for a wrestling run? More on this story, below.

Nia Jax On An AEW Run

Everyone was shocked to see Nia Jax return to the WWE at this year’s Royal Rumble. After all, she was released by the company in November 2021.

With that said, she hasn’t been seen on WWE programming, since. During a virtual signing, Jax talked about becoming All Elite.

Would She Or Wouldn’t She?

Jax notes during the signing that she “keeps” getting asked that question, noting she “actually” would head to AEW. While she says she usually says “no” to the question, she would go.

Nia adds that she’s really good friends with Saraya (Paige). She reveals that she loves what her friend is doing in AEW.

Jax also states that she recently met Nyla Rose. She ends by saying (going to AEW) would be cool and something “different”.

Nia Jax signed with the WWE in 2014, debuting in NXT in May 2015. She spent about a year in the developmental brand heading to the main roster in 2016.

She was drafted to Monday Night RAW in July of that year. Jax had quite the run on the Red brand during her tenure, becoming a one-time RAW Women’s Champion.

She was also a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, along with partner Shayna Baszler. Unfortunately, as per Jax, she requested time off for mental health in early November 2021 and was released from her contract later that month.

Could Nia Jax end up in AEW someday? Anything is possible in the land of professional wrestling.
