Vickie Guerrero Leaving AEW, WWE “Going Hard” To Sign Talent

According to a report, Vickie Guerrero is leaving AEW. Plus, more of the promotion’s talent have contracts that are expiring this year. Sounds like the WWE will “go hard” to sign stars from the brand and bring them over.

Vickie Guerrero Leaving AEW

As per Fightful Select, Vickie Guerrero is leaving AEW by this summer. She and the company have both decided against renewing her deal, which expires this July.

Interestingly enough, Vickie has hinted about a “new” journey on her social media handles. What’s next for Ms. Guerrero?

Vickie Guerrero Leaving AEW … So What’s Next?

In 2019, Vickie graduated from Herzing University earning a Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration. She received a talent scholarship from the WWE in 2018.

Vickie debuted on AEW in December 2019 as a guest commentator during a Dark edition. She then became Nyla Rose’s manager during the Fight for the fallen event in the summer of 2020.

As of late, she also managed Marina Shafir. Last week during a Dark: Elevation taping that took place in Phoenix, she was in their corner as Rose and Shafir, who also teamed up with Diamante.

Perhaps Guerrero decides to pursue a career in the area she studied. Then again, the sky’s the limit for Vicky, so it’s hard to say.

In related news, a new report states that with a number of AEW talent contracts expiring soon, WWE could get aggressive to sign these stars. More on this, below.

WWE “Going Hard” To Sign Talent

It may be challenging for Tony Khan to keep some of his top AEW stars in the months ahead. A new report hints that the WWE may have its eyes on some talent, especially the ones whose deals are expiring.

After all, since AEW first began in 2019, many a WWE superstar has made the jump over to become All Elite. From Matt Hardy to Brodie Lee, Miro, Bryan Danielson, Ruby Soho, Saraya, and more, WWE has felt the burn of talent loss to AEW.

Could the tides be changing? After all, WWE scored a huge win in 2022 when they signed Cody Rhodes.

Could The Young Bucks Jump Ship?

Not only was Rhodes with AEW since the beginning, but also an Executive Vice President. As per Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, the WWE will get more aggressive in their pursuit of snagging AEW stars.

Especially with top talent whose contracts are coming up soon, like the Young Bucks. As Meltzer notes, there are “a lot of key deals” that are expiring this year.

Dave notes that Tony Khan “needs” to make his product (and the perception around the brand) look financially stable and attractive. The last thing he wants to do is lose more top talent to the WWE.

After all, losing Cody was a huge blow to AEW. Interestingly enough, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair has already called for Kenny Omega and The Bucks to sign with the WWE if the opportunity arises.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer has had his good times and bad times with the company. He’s also been around the wrestling block a few times so his advice is as good as gold when it comes to this industry.
