The Hollywood legend Raquel Welch passed away on Wednesday at the age of 82 after a “brief illness.” Afterwards, a co-host on the ABC talk show “The View” tried to compare Welch to Kim Kardashian, and let’s just say it didn’t end well for her.

Welch Compared To Kardashian

“The View” moderator Whoopi Goldberg kicked off Thursday’s show by paying tribute to Welch.

“We were so heartbroken to hear of the passing of one of the world’s most enduring sex symbols — the fabulous Raquel Welch,” she said. “Sail on, Raquel. Sail on.”

Joy Behar chimed in to look back on Welch’s career in such classic movies as Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years B.C.

“They don’t make any sex symbols like that [anymore],” she said.

That’s when co-host Sunny Hostin began to say, “Well, Kim Kardashian is —”

Before she could even finish, however, the crowd cut Hostin off and screamed “No!”

“Kardashian?! No!” Behar exclaimed as the audience continued to boo. “Turning, turning! The audience is turning.”

Hostin was left speechless at the response she got, looking stunned with her mouth wide open.

“That’s not even — you can’t even put them in the same — I’m not even — look, I’m moving on,” Goldberg said, with Behar adding, “Now she’s ticked off!”

Welch Refused To Ever Go Nude Onscreen

Welch death was announced on Wednesday by her manager Steve Sauer, who told People Magazine that she “passed away peacefully early this morning after a brief illness.”

“Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances,” he continued. “The Golden Globe winner, in more recent years, was involved in a very successful line of wigs.”

“Raquel leaves behind her two children, son Damon Welch and her daughter Tahnee Welch,” Sauer concluded.

Fans of Welch’s will know that she could not be more different from Kardashian, who rose to fame for starring in a sex tape. In contrast, Welch refused to ever appear nude in her films despite being known as a sex symbol for decades. She even said in her memoir that she “always hated feeling so exposed and vulnerable” in love scenes.

“I’ve definitely used my body and sex appeal to advantage in my work, but always within limits,” she said, according to The New York Times. “I reserve some things for my private life, and they are not for sale.”

Goldberg Speaks Out Against Kardashian

This comes two months after Goldberg spoke out against Kardashian when Charlize Theron told The Hollywood Reporter that “the marketplace of what Kim Kardashian represents” holds “way more value than what Meryl Streep, one of the greatest actresses working, does.”

“I don’t think that’s true. Kim Kardashian can’t get a movie greenlit, or it would’ve happened,” Goldberg said. “She can’t do that. She can get television shows made, maybe, but that’s about it. She can maybe be instrumental in helping things happen, but I’ll tell you, Charlize, you’ve got more pull in the industry than I’ve got in the industry. You get stuff done faster than I can. Till took me 11 years.”

“So, there are things, there are people who can make things happen, but I don’t know all that many people other than a lot of men who can get stuff greenlit like that,” she added.

While we don’t agree with Goldberg on much, we’re glad that she jumped to Welch’s defense when her co-host compared the late star to Kardashian. In the end, Raquel Welch had more class than Kim Kardashian ever will.
