The world lost a true legend yesterday when the Hollywood star Raquel Welch passed away at the age of 82. In the wake of her death, the estate of the iconic star John Wayne has released a hilarious video of him and Welch decades ago that is sure to make you miss them both more than ever.

Welch And Wayne Footage Resurfaces

“Rest in peace Raquel Welch, you will be dearly missed,” Wayne’s estate wrote on social media. “John Wayne and Raquel Welch in Mexico on the set of Raquel (1970) a TV special that showcased her talents as a singer, dancer, and comedienne.”

“While in Mexico, Duke and Raquel visited an orphanage and met over 600 orphans,” the estate added.

The estate then posted a clip alongside a caption that read, “John Wayne and Raquel Welch visit the Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos orphanage in Acolman de Nezahualcóyotl, México, in a segment from Raquel Welch’s TV Special, Raquel! (1970). Rest in peace Raquel Welch, you will be dearly missed.”

In the clip, Welch can be seen teasing Wayne for being a big softy in real life behind his tough guy persona.

“Yeah… big bad John. But I know different,” she said. “You’re just a real pushover when it comes to kids. About 600 kids to be exact in that orphanage down in Mexico.”

The footage then shows the two stars visiting the orphanage, which Welch described as a “peaceful” place, adding that it was a “privilege” to meet the kids that live there. The clip ended with Wayne in a cowboy hat saying goodbye to Welch before she rode off on a horse.

Wayne’s Daughter Comments

The video immediately went viral, with Wayne’s daughter Marisa even commenting on it to say, “I remember that day. She was so gracious and gorgeous. Rest in peace.”

The Daily Express reported that Wayne appeared with Welch in her 1970 CBS special “Raquel!,” which saw her meet Hollywood legends all over the world from Paris to Mexico. Other stars that appeared in the special included Tom Jones and Bob Hope.

Wayne sadly passed away nine years after appearing in Welch’s special at the age of 72 after battling stomach cancer for over ten years. In the decades since his passing, liberals have tried to “cancel” Wayne for his conservative views, but the above clip of him just goes to show what a giving and kind-hearted man he really was.
