The world was stunned last weekend when the singer Madonna’s face looked “unrecognizable” at the Grammy Awards. Now, plastic surgeons are weighing in to give their thoughts on what she might have done to her face.

Plastic Surgeons Weigh In

Dr. Michael Horn, a board certified plastic surgeon from Chicago, Illinois, told Daily Mail that Madonna likely had a “facelift,” adding that this was “obvious because her skin” appeared “tight and pulled back with no wrinkles.”

“Over the years, Madonna, has seemingly undergone numerous plastic surgery procedures,” he said. “Last night’s appearance at the Grammy’s showed the most different-looking version of Madonna we have seen.”

“She has undergone a facelift … This is obvious because her skin is tight and pulled back with no wrinkles. Her eyes also seem smaller, likely due to being pulled during a facelift,” he continued. “Madonna previously had a natural nose that suited her face. It appears as if she had rhinoplasty since this version has a pointy tip and seems too narrow.”

Dr. Horn went on to say that “Botox was also evident on many areas of her face,” citing the lack of “expression lines and wrinkles” and her “minimal facial movement.”

“What is most noticeable and striking is the drastic change in Madonna’s facial shape into a more V-shaped structure,” he added. “She has seemingly used excessive filler over time, giving her face a full appearance and taking away from the natural and pleasing bone structure she once had. Her cheekbones are more prominent than ever and appear unnaturally high.”

Madonna’s Potential Hairline And Eyebrow Work

Dr. Horn concluded by saying that he believes Madonna has had work done on her eyebrows and hairline as well.

“It also appears that she had a brow lift which is made more noticeable by her thin eyebrows, which were formerly thick,” he said. “‘It also appears that her hairline is wider now. It is also likely that she had filler injected into the temples of her head.”

Jennifer Levine, a double-board certified plastic surgeon, shares many of these opinions about what Madonna may have had done.

“It is possible that this is [the result of] a new surgical procedure on her face and brow,” she said. “There is a sweep of her lateral face, and her neck is not the same as her face. There is [also] volume replacement to her lips and whole face, including temples, chin cheeks and jawline – which may from either be filler or fat grafting.”

“Her face is devoid of any wrinkles, indicating neuromodulators as well as possible laser resurfacing,” Levine added. “She has a glow to her skin possibly from [platelet-rich plasma injections], or other biostimulatory fillers.”

Madonna Fires Back At Haters

This comes after Madonna responded to the backlash she received over her Grammy look by claiming to be a victim of “ageism” and “misogyny.”

“Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny That permeates the world we live in A world that refuses to celebrate women pass the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working and adventurous,” she said in a lengthy Instagram post.

“I have never apologized for any of the creative choices I have made nor the way that I look or dress and I’m not going to start,” Madonna added. “I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come. In the words of Beyoncé ‘You-won’t break my soul.'”

While everyone would love to look younger if they could, Madonna has become a cautionary tale about what can happen when plastic surgery goes too far. Perhaps if Madonna had been brave enough to allow herself to age gracefully and naturally, her looks wouldn’t be as much of a topic of discussion as they have become!
