Pink Reveals Her Childhood Idol Madonna ‘Doesn’t Like’ Her – ‘Some People Just Don’t Like Me’

The pop star Pink is speaking out in a new interview this week to reveal that her fellow singer Madonna, who was her childhood idol, “doesn’t like” her. 

Pink’s Awkward Encounter With Madonna

While appearing on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” on Wednesday morning, Pink revealed that she and Madonna had an awkward encounter on the set of “Live with Regis and Kelly” nearly 20 years ago.

“Some people just don’t like me,” said Pink, 43. “I’m a polarizing individual.”

Host Howard Stern replied by pointing out that Madonna, 64, is also a “polarizing individual,” and while Pink agreed, she also said that she was a huge fan of the “Like A Virgin” star when she was growing up. 

“F–k, I loved her,” Pink said before sharing what happened when she met Madonna backstage in November of 2003. 

“She tried to kind of play me on ‘Regis and Kelly,’ and I’m not the one, so [it] didn’t work out,” Pink said.

‘Such A Silly Story’

“It’s just such a silly story. I f–king love Madonna, and I love her no matter what,” she continued. ‘I still love her no matter what. She was such an inspiration to me, but it sort of got twisted around that I was, like, fangirling and was dying to meet Madonna when in actuality she invited me into her dressing room.”

“And so I just said a joke when Regis [Philbin] brought me out and said, ‘I heard you were just falling over yourself backstage. How does it feel?’ I’m like, ‘I thought she wanted to meet me,'” Pink recalled. 

Madonna, however, did not take this joke well.

“It didn’t work out. It didn’t work out for us,” Pink recalled, with Stern interjecting by saying,  “Madonna took the joke personally.”

The segment ended with Stern joking that he had Madonna in the studio to fight Pink, leading the “So What” singer to burst out laughing. Check out the full clip in the video below.

Pink’s Other Madonna Story

Page Six reported that this comes days after Pink claimed that Madonna wanted her to be a part of her and Britney Spears’ infamous kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards, which took place three months before the “Live with Regis and Kelly” appearance in 2003. 

“I think we all were [invited],” Pink said earlier this week. “I think Madonna wanted to kiss all of us. I was in Costa Rica at the time, having all kinds of fun with my boyfriend, Carey Hart. Gwen Stefani was also invited, I remember. It was a bunch of us.”

“It was going to be a party. It would’ve been a really weird party,” she added.

Pink would go on to marry Hart in 2006, and they’ve since had two children together.

Pink’s Bond With Britney Spears

Though Pink doesn’t get along with Madonna, she has other friends in the music business. In another interview this week, Pink talked about how “protective” she is of her fellow singer Britney Spears. 

“People think I was picking on Britney on [my 2001 single] ‘Don’t Let Me Get Me,’ but I’ve always felt like a big sister to her,” Pink said of Spears, according to People Magazine. “I’m very protective of her, and she’s the sweetest person in the world.”

It certainly is interesting to see who gets along and who doesn’t in the entertainment world. Here’s hoping that Pink and Madonna can make up at some point in the years to come!
