John Cena and Ronda Rousey will work Wrestlemania 39 and their rumored opponents are known. Also, will Sami Zayn get a push from WWE?

John Cena & Ronda Rousey WrestleMania Idea

In less than two months, WWE will produce WrestleMania 39. A few matches are set, but some big names still need opponents.

First, we go to John Cena. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they noted how he is a go for the show.

Cena is scheduled to take on Austin Theory. It was not clear if the United States Championship will be in play.

The two have been trading barbs on social media for some time. A few names were discussed for Cena, but it seems Theory gets the final nod.

Cena lasted appeared for WWE at the final SmackDown of 2022. He left the victor with Kevin Owens and apparently WWE filmed content between Cena and Theory.

The footage will be used to hype the match as Cena is busy. He is working on a film in Australia, but will make the trip back to the United States.

It will mark his WrestleMania return, after missing the last two installments. He worked WrestleMania 36, losing to ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Funhouse Match.

Of course, that was the only WrestleMania to feature no crowd. Due to the pandemic, WWE taped the show early.

Ronda Rousey Going For Gold

Second, we switch our attention to Ronda Rousey. Even without a singles title, she will be looking to win gold.

She is rumored to be teaming with another MMA fighter in, Shayna Baszler. They are scheduled to take on the WWE Women Tag Team Champions.

The tag belts are currently held by IYO SKY and Dakota Kai. It is unknown if they will enter WrestleMania 39 as champions.

All four women are currently listed as heels. If that is the match, look for one of the two teams to become faces before the show.

Confirmed for WrestleMania 39 is Undisputed Universal Championship Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and SmackDown Women’s Championship Charlotte Flair opposite Rhea Ripley.

Sami Zayn’s Push

The Royal Rumble saw the next chapter with The Bloodline. Sami Zayn turned on The Bloodline and then Jey Usos teased the same.

We will see how that plays out during tonight’s SmackDown.

When WWE originally paired Zayn with The Bloodline, it was not meant to be long-term. In fact, the angle has shown the upside of Zayn.

The problem, is WWE does see him internally as someone who could headline WrestleMania. Therefore, WWE went with Cody Rhodes to challenge Roman Reigns.

Zayn will likely challenge Reigns at the Elimination Chamber. Reigns is expected to retain and once again headline WrestleMania.

Vince McMahon and Triple H simply do not see Zayn in such a marquee match. We will not be seeing a repeat of an underdog, like Kofi Kingston was, to win the title.

The Elimination Chamber comes from Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. So, except Reigns to be heavily booed.
