In mere months, Rhodes will be facing Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, rewinding a year ago, Cody was in the AEW and an Executive Vice President for the company.

He wasn’t around for the infamous backstage brawl that occurred between The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and CM Punk after All Out’s media scrum. Still, he did recently provide his thoughts while chatting with Ariel Helwani during The MMA Draft Kings.

Rhodes notes that people were texting him after it all went down saying he was the “smartest” guy in the room. He states he wanted to text back saying that he didn’t feel this way because he felt “this thing” they built got “damaged”.

Rhodes did not point the finger of blame on one specific person. Still, he notes he really “hated” seeing it all.

He also states he was “bummed” when he heard about the All Out brawl.  Rhodes also reveals that’s not how “we envisioned it”.

Cody Rhodes On The AEW All Out Brawl – Hopeful For The Future

Cody says he hopes AEW continues to grow and remembers why the promotion is there. He states that he believes that one of his major wrestling career accomplishments was helping build an alternative promotion to give talents more opportunities.

Sounds like Cody Rhodes took the news of the backstage All Out brawl, hard. Here’s hoping the backstage issues at the AEW continue to stay calm.

Over to WWE news, Karrion Kross recently conducted a candid interview with New York’s Z100’s Josh Martinez during his podcast The Superstar Crossover. More on this story, below.

Karrion Kross Pissed

Kross is one of the talents released by the WWE that Triple H brought back under his new creative leadership. Unlike his last main roster run, Karrion’s wife Scarlett also came for the ride this time around.

The interview was recorded the week of the 2023 Royal Rumble. Kross notes during his chat that he shouldn’t say it, and it may be “unhealthy”, but he gets really “pissed” sometimes because he feels “it’s not enough”.

He notes he feels like he hasn’t reached his full potential with the WWE yet. That people haven’t seen his “best work” yet.

Kross notes that “at this level” certain types of opportunities need to be given, which is challenging with a huge roster and only two hours of programming that SmackDown has. He believes once he’s afforded a “shot” that he’s going to blow everyone away.

Karrion also states that he has been afforded a lot. However, he just wants to show everyone what he can do.

Kross also says that every single week he gets closer and closer to that shot. He notes that fans will see some great storytelling from him.

Karrion Kross’ Return And Feuds

Kross was released by the WWE in November 2021. In August 2022, he and Scarlett made a splashing return.

Since his comeback, Karrion has had feuds with Drew McIntyre and now Rey Mysterio. Here’s hoping Kross gets the storytelling opportunity he so desperately wants.
