We dive into this week’s SmackDown in a Nutshell with one major question. Is the Bloodline on life support?

Now, why in the world would we wonder if the Bloodline is on life support?

Well, one big match tonight has Jimmy and Jey Uso defending the blue belts against Braun Strowman and Ricochet.

Except we have not seen Jey Uso since he bailed on the Bloodline at the end of the Royal Rumble.

So, it seems to be a fair question-is the Bloodline on life support, given so many questions and issues.

On top of that, we have a fatal four way match to determine the next person challenging GUNTHER.

There will certainly be more-there always is. But that Bloodline drama?

Yeah, that is going to be front and center until it is over…right?

In either case, it is time for…

SmackDown In A Nutshell: Is The Bloodline On Life Support?

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!

Best Match of the night:

The fatal fourway was solid.

I honestly was expecting some Rey twist again, but I am all in for a Madcap Moss shot.

Probably won’t pull it out, but it’s good for Moss to get a chance either way.

Worst match of the night:

I think Sheamus and Drew versus Hit Row.

Liked the result, but the match was bad and Hit Row were barely better than jobbers here.

Crowd Chants of the Night:

Sami

Knock-off Rousey

Star of the Night

Sami Zayn did a lot of good…but he’s not the star.

For me, it’s Riddick Moss.

Err…Madcap Moss.

They should revert him back, but regardless, Moss just earned himself a date with GUNTHER next weekend.

Spot of the Night:

Nothing major, but I like the move where Ricochet jumps off of Braun Strowman’s shoulders.

Jobber of the Night:

I believe her name was Carmen Harress, but whomever Lacey Evans destroyed?

She wins.

Hit Row was not far behind.

Upset of the Night:

For me, there is little doubt.

This one is Madcap Moss winning the fatal fourway.

I mean, think about it. Before the match, if you were considering one of Rey, Karrion Kross, Santos Escobar and Moss?

For me, I was thinking Kross. Or, perhaps the easy choice in Rey Mysterio.

Really happy I was wrong here.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

On a night where maybe we didn’t have one…this one will suffice.
For me, at least.

Botch of the night:

There might be some who call Jey’s return a botch.

I wouldn’t argue against them. It seemed mostly anti-climactic.

Yes, drama remains, and things are going to get interesting…but it wasn’t all that good.

LOL Moment of the night:

Sami talking to Heyman, giving him that hug.

I don’t know why, but that did make me laugh.

Chelsea Green’s new thing is amusing so far.

Noteworthy Moment:

This should keep things interesting…

Overall lowlights:

Too many short matches.

Lacey ran a few minutes. Raquel and Liv were good, but their tag match was quick too.

And, this one felt a bit off.

I didn’t love the Jey return, but the jury remains out.

Plus, and others say it too, any time WWE does a segment where the Superstars act like they aren’t breathing on a camera man is just odd.

Tonight’s was Sami and Jey “being secretive”.

Overall highlights:

Now, while I don’t like how Jey just returned…I am intrigued with how Reigns handles fallout from Sami acknowledging Jey, and Jey telling Jimmy that he didn’t know if he was in or out.

In case you didn’t pick up on the theme, Sami and The Bloodline remain a top program, and this week was no different.

Happy to see Moss getting a shot. Not sure he has any chance at GUNTHER, but it’s still nice to get a new face in the mix.

After the final bell:

All in all, an interesting SmackDown.

This one won’t go down as the best ever. Heck, it won’t even be the best of the month.

But the Bloodline story continues, and Sami Zayn and Paul Heyman did good work here tonight.

Ronda Rousey is back after a little break, but she practically flew under the radar.

Elimination Chamber is rounding into form, too. Kind of easy to forget that the next PLE is…next weekend.
