WrestleMania 39 is mere months away. Media, fans, and spectators alike continue to speculate on what plans the WWE has in store for one of their biggest stars ever, John Cena.

Plus, Nia Jax’s wrestling future.

John Cena – WrestleMania 39 Plans

WrestleMania 39 is set to take place on April 1st and 2nd at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. While the card hasn’t yet been formed, the WWE has many plans for its flagship event.

John Cena is expected to have some sort of role for the Grandest Stage of Them All. Recently, Dave Meltzer offered some insight into WWE’s plans for Cena, during an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

John Cena – WrestleMania 39 Plans … Whom Will He Be Facing?

According to Meltzer, John Cena is set for a match against Austin Theory. Dave notes that this has been part of the plan for “a while” now.

Fightful Select reported that there were plans to film a segment between Cena and Theory when John returned to SmackDown for the Blue brand’s December 30th show. It was said that Austin was originally slated for a live show in Toronto but was pulled from it.

Theory was supposed to face Seth Rollins at that house show. However, he ended up traveling to Tampa to film something with Cena, instead.

The Fightful report did not confirm if the Austin/Cena segment was for 2K, digital, or just “future use”. But something was certainly filmed between the two.

Could it be that they filmed a promo to build a storyline for WM 39? Only time will tell.

One person not likely to take part in this year’s WrestleMania is Nia Jax. But is she that bothered by that at all?

Nia Jax’s Wrestling Future

Jax was undeniably a prominent figure in the WWE women’s division during her tenure. Sadly, her time with the company was cut short in November 2021, when she was released.

But would Nia ever return to the land of professional wrestling? A fan recently took to Twitter to ask the former WWE superstar if she would wrestle again.

As you can see from the above tweet, it’s highly unlikely that she’ll ever step foot in a ring again. Although, many other former stars have said the same and made a comeback, so only time will tell.

Nia Jax WWE History

Jax signed with the WWE in 2014 and debuted in NXT in May 2015. As Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s cousin, her future with the company looked very bright.

While she didn’t hold any gold in NXT, Nia certainly had a unique character in the division. Her strength, size, and power made her a dominant and intimidating figure.

She jumped to the main roster in 2016. During that time, she held the RAW Women’s Champion and was a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Titleholder with Shayna Baszler.

While it may be sad for some fans to think that Nia may not wrestle again, she does have other career options. She not only has a degree in marketing, but she was also once a plus-size model.
