Jay Briscoe Dead At 38 Years Old

We hate to report this news, which is just coming in. Jay Briscoe, a legend as part of the Brisco Brothers, has passed away.

He was only 38 years old.

Tony Khan broke the absolutely sad news about his passing.

“Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We’ll do whatever we can to support his family. Rest In Peace Jamin”

Mike Johnson of PW Insider reports the cause of death was a car accident. As of now, very few details are known.

Johnson tweeted, “Briscoe passed away several hours ago in what we have heard was a ‘car accident’, although obviously details are very very preliminary as of this writing.”

For 20 years, Jay Briscoe was a fixture in Ring of Honor (ROH). He just started his thirteenth tag team title run, is a two time ROH World Champion and ROH Six Man tag champion.

Him and his brother were the only wrestlers under contract to ROH. They will go down as one of the most popular teams around the world.

He worked basically everywhere, minus WWE and AEW. WCW was before their time.

They won gold in many promotions. And, many were from top companies around the world.

Such as: Combat Zone Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, Jersey All-Pro Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and National Wrestling Alliance. What a team those brothers were, entertaining fans everywhere.

From everyone at Wrestle Newz, we hate to report such horrible news. For now, we send our thoughts to Jay Briscoe’s family and friends during this terrible time.

Just awful news and this is beyond painful. Just, so sad at 38 years old.
