Jack Nicholson’s Loved Ones Fear He’ll Die Alone As He Hasn’t Been Seen In Over A Year

Friends of the Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson are becoming increasingly worried that he will die alone as the two-time Oscar winner has become more reclusive than ever over the past year.

Nicholson Is A Recluse

Daily Mail reported that an insider who is close to the 85 year-old Nicholson said that “he doesn’t want to face reality anymore” and is currently holed up at his ritzy Los Angeles mansion. Nicholson has not been seen in public since October of 2021, when he was spotted at a Los Angeles Lakers game with his 30 year-old son Ray. 

The source told RadarOnline that Nicholson’s loved ones are afraid that he will die a recluse, just like his friend Marlon Brando did.

“He’s made it clear his home is his castle. But people just wish he’d come out of the house and pop up to tell them how – or at least reassure folks he’s OK,” the insider said, according to The New York Post. “Jack’s in touch with certain relatives – especially Ray, his protégé, who he’s so proud of – but his socializing days are long gone.”

Nicholson Compared To Brando

The source went on to compare Nicholson to Brando, who gained tons of weight after becoming a recluse in Tahiti and dying at the age of 80 in 2004. 

“Brando died a virtual recluse after leading such a colorful life, and Jack’s friends are drawing the comparisons,” the source said. “His kids will visit, but they’re his only connection to the world. It’s like he doesn’t want to face reality anymore – and that’s just sad.”

Nicholson is the father of six children by five different women. Another friend expressed fears that Nicholson is suffering from dementia, alleging that Ray and his 32 year-old older sister Lorraine are taking care of him. 

“Jack and I have been friends for years and he doesn’t leave his house anymore… I think his son and daughter are looking after him now,” this friend said. “The Mulholland Drive community is pretty close-knit, and they are all worried about him. It’s really sad to see such a super talented actor, like Jack, go out this way.”

Nicholson’s Life And Career

Nicholson has lived in a mansion on Mulholland Drive since the 1970s, and it boasts four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a pool, and 3,303 square feet of space. These days, Nicholson reportedly spends his time sleeping until 1pm and drinking milk to soothe his stomach. He also likes to play golf, and he often takes walks to the property next-door to his home, where he stores his art collection.

Nicholson has had a storied career in Hollywood that saw him get nominated for 12 Oscars, winning three times for his work in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest in 1975, Terms Of Endearment in 1983, and As Good As It Gets in 1998. He hasn’t made a movie since 2010, when he starred in How Do You Know with Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson.
