During the 2022 PFL season, Olivier Aubin-Mercier showcased his skills to the masses.

Aubin-Mercier capped it all off recently by knocking out Stevie Ray at PFL Championships. The win earned OAM the lightweight title and $1 million, coming live on ESPN+ pay-per-view from Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The run for Aubin-Mercier started in April when he picked up a razor-thin split decision over Natan Schulte. By besting a former PFL champion in Schulte, the proud Canadian positioned himself nicely in the regular season.

Aubin-Mercier continued a few short months later when he knocked off Raush Manfio with another decision at PFL 4. In August, he secured his spot in the finals with a decision over Alex Martinez.

Through nine rounds, Aubin-Mercier was the most dominant fighter in the division. He controlled his opponent and made sure there was little doubt who the best would be.

Paired up against Ray, Aubin-Mercier made sure to be careful picking his spots. In the second round, he found that opening and attacked, scoring his first knockout finish since 2018 when he topped Evan Dunham.

Aubin-Mercier will enter the 2023 regular season as the hunted now, having won six in a row since signing with the PFL. He is as experienced and battle-tested a fighter as the promotion has, and he should have no issue fighting whoever they throw at him.

Along with being a PFL champion, Aubin-Mercier’s resume also includes finishing second on The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia, along with winning seven UFC fights.
