Back in September, we reported that the “woke” Hollywood star Jane Fonda had announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Now, the woman who was nicknamed “Hanoi Jane” during the Vietnam War has given an update about her cancer battle that will have her fans rejoicing in a big way.

Fonda’s Cancer Is In Remission

Daily Mail reported that Fonda has announced that her cancer is in remission, describing this as “the best birthday present ever,” as she is set to turn 85 next Wednesday.

“Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo,” Fonda wrote on her website. “I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way. I am confident that it played a role in the good news.”

“I’m especially happy because while my first 4 chemo treatments were rather easy for me, only a few days of being tired, the last chemo session was rough and lasted 2 weeks making it hard to accomplish much of anything,” she added.

‘Cancer Is A Teacher’

When announcing her diagnosis back in September, Fonda said that she was “privileged as a celebrity” and was “lucky” to “have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatment.”

“Cancer is a teacher and I’m paying attention to the lessons it holds for me. One thing it’s shown me already is the importance of community. Of growing and deepening one’s community so that we are not alone,” she said at the time. “And the cancer, along with my age — almost 85 — definitely teaches the importance of adapting to new realities.”

Unsurprisingly, Fonda used her latest update about her health to also push her “woke” climate change agenda. She resumed her Fire Drill Friday climate protests in Washington D.C. earlier this month, and she said that the effects of her last chemotherapy treatment wore off just as she got to the first rally on December 2.

“Besides the rally, I did some lobbying and spoke twice at the Democracy Alliance all in an effort to stop Senator Joe Manchin’s side deal which climate activists call the Dirty Deal,” she wrote.

Fonda’s Eating Disorders

This comes after Fonda opened up about her battle with anorexia and bulimia in her youth.

“If I had it to do over and it was nowadays, I’d probably go to a 12-step program or something, but I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t know there was a name for it, and I didn’t know that you could go someplace,” Fonda said, according to People Magazine. “I’m talking 1960s, ’50s.”

Fonda went on to describe why she made the effort to overcome her eating disorders.

“I was married, I had children, I was politically active, I was raising money, I was an actor, I was making movies. I couldn’t do it all because the older you get, the more toll it takes on you,” Fonda stated. “If you binge and purge, it’s like three or four days to really recover. And I just couldn’t do the lifestyle that I wanted to do.”

“I thought my life was worth improving, so I just decided that I would stop. And it was really, really, really, really hard,” she continued. “The good news is that you can recover from eating disorders. 100%.”

While we certainly do not agree with Fonda politically, we would never wish cancer upon anyone, so we’re glad to see that she is in remission. Here’s hoping that she wakes up in her final years and finally has some second thoughts about her radically liberal opinions!
