Derrick Lewis has his sights set on becoming UFC heavyweight champion.

To continue on the path to a title shot, Lewis will need to take out Sergey Spivak this Saturday night. The two headline the UFC Fight Night event from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Lewis, a 37-year-old from Houston, has lost two straight and three of his last four. However, he has the power that makes him so dangerous in the division.

With a record of 26-10, Lewis own 21 knockout victories, including a 2021 finish of Chris Daukaus. From 2019-21, he reeled off four consecutive wins to position himself for the interim UFC heavyweight title.

However, Lewis was denied by Ciryl Gane, falling in the third round in his hometown. More recently, he has been stopped by both Sergei Pavlovich and Tai Tuivasa.

But again, that big-time knockout power remains in the hand of Lewis. And you can bet Spivak has been preparing just for that.

Spivak has won two straight, finishing both Augusto Sakai and Greg Hardy. He is 6-3 inside the Octagon with four finishes to his credit – including the last two vs. Sakai and Hardy.

Along with Lewis vs. Spivak, Ion Cutelaba meets Kennedy Nzechukwu in the co-main event, with Chase Sherman taking on Waldo Cortes-Acosta.
