Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen shocked the world last week when they announced that they had finalized their divorce. In his first interview since this news broke, Brady is opening up about this divorce, and he’s admitted that it negatively impacted his football abilities in recent weeks while playing as quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady Sounds Off

Days after news of his divorce broke, Brady opened up about “giving all you can to the team,” even when going through a personal crisis like the breakup of a marriage.

“I think there’s a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home,” Brady, 45, said on his “Let’s Go!” podcast on Monday. “Obviously, the good news is it’s a very amicable situation and I’m really focused on two things, taking care of my family and certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games.”

“So, that’s what professionals do. You focus at work when it’s time to work, and then when you come home you focus on the priorities that are at home,” he added. “All you can do is the best you could do. That’s what I’ll just continue to do as long as I’m working and as long as I’m being a dad.”

Brady went on to say that having his divorce “play out in front of a lot of people” makes it even more challenging to deal with.

“We all have our unique challenges in life,” he said. “We’re all humans. We do the best we could do. I have incredible parents that have always taught me the right way to do things. I want to be a great father to my children and always try to do things the right way as well.”

“And to deal with things in your life that have challenges, you wanna deal with them in the best possible way,” Brady concluded. “So, I want to always be able to hold my head high on and off the field, and I’m gonna try to continue to do that for as long as I’m here.”

This comes after Brady suffered his first straight three-game loss in the last 20 years of his career the night before his divorce was announced.

How Is Bündchen Doing?

A source close to Bündchen, 42, spoke out this week to say that she is doing fine after the divorce.

“Gisele is dealing with issues that have been plaguing her for a long time,” this insider told People Magazine, adding that while the divorce “was hard at first” for Bündchen, “enough time has passed that she is settling in.”

The source went on to say that the supermodel “has lived her own life for years while Tom played football so she is not afraid to do things by herself.” At this time, Bündchen’s main priority is the two young children that she shares with Brady.

“Gisele is great with her children and radiates happiness when either one or both are around,” the source said, adding that “having them with her has helped her move ahead.”

Bündchen ‘Looked Beautiful And Seemed Fine’

Another source said that Bündchen “looked beautiful and seemed fine” when she was seen out and about with her children in Miami Beach after the divorce.

“You would never know she was going through a split from her husband,” the source continued.

This insider then said that now that she’s single, Bündchen “is also eager to continue with her own career and interests.”

“She has a full plate and lots of support,” the source concluded.

Brady and Bündchen were married for thirteen years prior to their divorce. While it’s sad to see them split up after being together for so long, we hope that they are each able to find peace and happiness in their lives moving forward.
