Patricia Heaton Offers Powerful Message Of Comfort To Christians Disappointed By Election Results

The midterm elections on Thursday turned out to be underwhelming for many Americans, and the former “Everybody Loves Raymond” star Patricia Heaton has a powerful message for any conservative Christians out there who may be disappointed with the results.

Heaton’s Powerful Words Of Comfort

“For those of you who are Christians and who feel disappointed or despairing of the election results, it is a blessing to be reminded that our security does not rest in men or governments, which are finite and will eventually crumble, but in God alone who is ever sustaining,” Heaton tweeted on Wednesday morning.

Heaton Takes The High Road

Heaton went on to engage with some Twitter users who responded to her tweet, including one liberal who tried to say that Democrats act more like Jesus than Republicans do these days.

“Does it ever occur to you that may be this is God’s will at work? I mean sincerely, who seems to act most like Jesus these days? (Quick hint, it’s not Republicans),” this user wrote. “And the moment you politicize religion you’ve proven you missed Jesus message entirely.”

As per usual, Heaton responded to this tweet by taking the high road.

“I absolutely believe God’s will is at work, regardless of who is in power,” she fired back. “Some Christians happy with the results, some Christians sad. But no Christian should put their faith in the government for their hope.”

Heaton Comforts Conservative Twitter User

Heaton also offered comfort to another user who responded to her initial tweet by expressing skepticism of the media.

“I am left to wonder if the press purposefully misled the country into thinking there’d be a ‘red sweep,'” this person said. “You’re right, we can never put our faith in politicians. I am more and more disappointed with each election, each one is worse than the previous. God help our country.”

Heaton could not help but agree that the media cannot be fully trusted.

“I think it is helpful to develop a healthy skepticism of all things media and political,” she said. “Never buy into what you are being fed by these folks.”

Heaton’s Religious And Political Views

Heaton has long been one of the few openly Christian conservative actresses in Hollywood. In a recent interview with Vatican News, she opened up about how she feels God has helped her in her entertainment career.

“God has been very gracious to me, in that the shows that he has given to me to do have never been a question of whether I had to be morally compromised,” she said.

“They were family-based, they were very well-written, they were beautiful shows and they were very positive,” Heaton added. “So in that way, it’s been easy as an actor and a person of faith to go in every day and enjoy my job.”

Heaton Slams Democrats 

Heaton is also staunchly pro-life, and she’s spoken out against the Democratic Party for supporting abortion in the past.

“I don’t understand why pro-life people want to know if they are ‘welcome’ to join the democrat party,” she tweeted back in 2020. “Why would any civilized person want to support a barbaric platform that champions abortion for any reason through all nine months funded by taxpayers?”

Conservatives everywhere are bitterly disappointed with the latest election results, but we can all find solace in Heaton’s words. We must never forget that even in the face of setbacks like these election results, God is always with us.
