Judge Judy Sheindlin and Justin Bieber are two celebrities that most people would not associate with one another. That’s why it may surprise you to learn that they were once neighbors in Beverly Hills, and that Bieber was reportedly terrified of Judy!

‘He’s Scared To Death Of Me’

In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Judy claimed that Bieber was afraid of her when they each had apartments at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

“He’s scared to death of me,” said Judy, 80. “There was a period of time before he grew up — when he was foolish, and doing foolish things

Bieber’s fear of the judge reportedly stemmed from comments she made after he was arrested for drunk driving in Miami back in 2014, according to Daily Mail

“Being a celebrity is a gift,” she told CBS after his arrest. “You could either treat it reverently or you could make a fool out of yourself. And he’s doing a very good job of making a fool out of himself.”

“I think it’s sad,” she continued at the time. “And nobody’s going to remember that he was a marginal singer. But they’re going to remember a young kid who had a chance to have it all and who is blowing it by acting like a fool.”

In her latest interview, Judy revealed that Bieber told hotel staffers to keep an eye on her after she made those comments about him to the press.

“I must have said something about it, and then, I understood that he was paying the front door people to let them know when I was there, coming and going, so he wouldn’t have to bump into me,” she recalled.

Bieber Finds God

Thankfully, Bieber, 28, has turned his life around in the years since his arrest, and he’s credited his strong faith in God with keeping him on the right path in life.

“God has brought me a long way,” he said on the seventh anniversary of his arrest last year. “From then til now I do realize something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now.”

“My encouragement to you is to let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you,” he added. “Don’t allow shame to ruin your ‘today’ let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be.”

US Weekly reported that Bieber went on to encourage his social media followers to learn from the mistakes that he’s made in his past.

“Don’t allow shame to ruin your ‘today’ let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be,” he wrote. “LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART.”

Judge Judy Happy With Success Of New Show

Life is going well for Judy too these days, as she’s currently promoting season 2 of her hit Amazon Prime show “Judy Justice,” which has generated over 75 million streaming hours in the U.S. and the U.K., according to The New York Post

“I’m happy I made the transition [to streaming] and grateful for the 25 years I enjoyed in broadcasting,” she said of the show’s success. “But it’s no secret among business people that broadcasting is not what it was 25 years ago.”

“Life is about moving forward — and notice I didn’t use the word ‘progress’ — but you’re supposed to put one foot in front of the other and sometimes it’s a leap of faith … gone are the days of ‘West Wing’ and ‘The Sopranos’ where it was appointment television … because you had to see the next episode,” Judy continued.

“Now you don’t have to wait until next week to see if someone is dead or alive or pregnant or not,” she concluded. “So I think I made into streaming at a perfect time.”

We’re glad to see that both Bieber and Judge Judy seem to be enjoying life at the moment. Should their paths cross again, hopefully Bieber won’t be as afraid of her as he was all those years ago!
