John Stamos Defends Lori Loughlin After College Admissions Scandal – ‘She Went To F***ing Jail’

John Stamos is speaking out this week to defend Lori Loughlin, who played his wife on the sitcom “Full House,” in the wake of her college admissions scandal.

Stamos Defends Loughlin

Daily Mail reported that while appearing on the Armchair Expert podcast, Stamos told host Dax Shepard that Loughlin was “in the way background” of the college admissions scandal, adding that she’s been punished enough for it after she served two months in prison.

Stamos began by referencing Shepard’s previous comments on Loughlin, saying that he’d “said some really nice stuff about her.”

“We talked last night…It was something that you were saying about how you hate when people bring her up because if you defend her then people get mad,” Stamos said. “If you don’t defend her, then you feel bad because she’s a great person.”

“I am going to say this, and she said I could. She wasn’t really the architect of any of it — she was in the way background,” he continued. “She didn’t know what was going on.”

This comes after Loughlin, 58, served two months in prison at the end of 2020 on charges related to her allegedly paying $500,000 to have both her daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. Her husband, the fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, served five months on similar charges.

On top of her prison sentence, Loughlin had to pay a fine of $150,000, and complete 100 hours of community service.

“She also paid a lot of money,” Stamos said. “She set up a college fund for kids and she went to f***ing jail, man.”

Dave Coulier Defends Loughlin

Stamos isn’t the first “Full House” star to defend Loughlin, as Dave Coulier also did back in June, according to People Magazine

“If you would have said at the beginning of Full House, ‘Who’s the one person who’s going to end up going to jail?’ Lori was last on the list,” he said at the time. “Everyone has their opinion. There’s a lot of untold story underneath that I don’t think a lot of people know. We all make mistakes.”

Coulier went on to say that he is still close to Loughlin, even after all these years.

“Lori is my best girl friend in life,” he said. “We make each other laugh really hard, through the tough times and the fun times.”

Loughlin Returns To Acting

Loughlin has returned to acting since getting out of prison, starring in the romantic comedy “Fall Into Winter” for Great American Family.

“She’s America’s sweetheart, regardless of what happened,” the network’s CEO Bill Abbott told Variety. “At the end of the day, she represents all that is positive about entertainment, and has had a stellar career — not only on screen, but also the way she’s conducted herself personally, in terms of being someone who has a track record of doing the right thing in the world at large, aside from whatever happened. I don’t know the details.”

While some may take issue with Stamos and others defending Loughlin, others may agree that she should be given a second chance. Let us know your thoughts on her in the comments section!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
