Bellator 288: Can Corey Anderson Finally Become A Champion?
For Corey Anderson, his shot at Bellator 288 means another crack at the light heavyweight championship belt.
Corey Anderson will try once again to claim the Bellator title this Friday night.
Anderson will challenge Vadim Nemkov for the light heavyweight title at Bellator 288. The bout is also the finals in the grand prix, with the winner earning $1 million live on Showtime.
The 33-year-old met Nemkov back in April and the bout was stopped in the third round due to an accidental clash of heads. Fans were left wanting more, and now they are going to get it.
Anderson’s path to the finals included a resounding first round finish of Ryan Bader, a former champion in Bellator. Overall, he is now 16-5 with three wins inside the Bellator cage.
Along with besting Bader, Anderson also stopped Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov and Melvin Manhoef.
Prior to signing with Bellator, Anderson had a strong career in the UFC. He earned wins over former champion Glover Teixeira and squared off with Jan Blachowicz.
Anderson has also earned wins over Johnny Walker, Patrick Cummins and Ilir Latifi.
