Last month, we reported that Sylvester Stallone had called off his divorce from his wife Jennifer Flavin, who he’s been married to for 25 years. Now, Stallone is opening up about the “reawakening” that he’s had in the wake of backtracking on this divorce.

‘There Was A Reawakening’

“There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family,” Stallone said, according to Daily Mail. “It takes precedence over my work and that was a hard lesson to learn.”

Stallone, 76, went on to say that he regrets focusing on his career over his children at some points of his life. He shares three daughters with Flavin: Sophia, 26, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20. He’s also father to son Seargeoh, 43, and the late Sage Stallone, who tragically died of a heart attack back in 2012 at the age of 36, from a previous marriage.

“I didn’t pay enough attention when they were growing up,” Stallone admitted. “I was so career-oriented and now I go, ‘OK, I don’t have that much runway up ahead and I want to start asking them about their lives.'”

“I ask them about their day and they started at first a little monosyllabic,” he continued. “Then I heard one say, ‘I was just thinking about you.’ Oh my God. I’ve never heard that before in my life. When a daughter knows you care, she’s there forever.”

Flavin Files For Divorce

Flavin, 54, filed for divorce from Stallone on August 19, saying at the time, “I’m sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone.”

“While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters,” she continued. “I ask for privacy for our family as we amicably move forward.”

Stallone responded with a statement of his own, saying, “I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues.”

‘They’ve Decided To Let It Ride Again’

Stallone’s rep told Page Six last month that he and Flavin had “decided to meet up at home, where they talked and were able to work out their differences. They are both extremely happy.”

“They’ve decided to let it ride again,” a source told People Magazine. “They just decided to reverse course and try again.”

Days before that, a court filing stated that Stallone and Flavin had decided “that it is in the best interests of each of them individually, and more importantly collectively as a family, to resolve all issues attendant to the dissolution of their marriage in a dignified, amicable and private manner out-of-court.”

Sources had said that Stallone was “blindsided” by Flavin filing for divorce. Making the situation even more messy was the fact that the couple reportedly did not have a prenuptial agreement in place, meaning that she would have likely gotten quite a sizable portion of his fortune, should the divorce have moved forward.

In the end, we’re glad to see that Stallone and Flavin have called off their divorce and decided to work things out. It’s never fun to watch a couple split up, particularly when they’ve been together for as many years as these two have been married, so it’s nice to see them give things another shot!
