Robert Whittaker Goes On Verbal Attack Against Paulo Costa
Former UFC champion Robert Whittaker is set to face Paulo Costa in early 2023 when the UFC heads to Australia.
Robert Whittaker had some fun at the expense of Paulo Costa recently.
Whittaker, a former UFC champion, called out Costa for his use of “secret juice” and more. The two square off February 12 from the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
“I have seen it. The only thing that I can think of is like, get a better label, bro,” Whittaker said, during a recent appearance on Submission Radio. “It’s like you just scribbled on some paper and just sticky taped it to your bottle. It was like his secret juice production facility is on a fucken hard budget. Like, they’re making top of the range gear, but like labels, nah, we have stretched it. Can’t get a label in there (laughs).
“I think he’s a tough guy, and I’m taking this fight with all the respect that I do every other fight. I’m gonna go in there in February the best version of myself, and I think the best version of myself is better than everybody else in the division. I think skill-wise I’m better than Paulo across the board. He probably benches more than me. But my bench isn’t crazy anyway (laughs).”
“He’s very well-rounded. He’s a very, very well-rounded fighter, and obviously he’s an athlete, a specimen. He’s got a lot of power, torque and explosiveness. But, I’d like to think I’m all of those things as well, and better.”
“I just think I’m better. Flat better. And I’m going to train my everything that I have over the next 17 weeks to put him away.”
