Ghsilaine Maxwell, the alleged former madam of the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, was spotted going on a morning jog in a Florida prison this week as she serves her twenty year sentence on sex trafficking charges.

Maxwell’s Morning Jogs In Prison

Daily Mail reported that Maxwell, 60, spends around 40 minutes each day running around the four lane track.

“Ghislaine is incredibly fit. She runs almost every day, and when not jogging on the track, she will walk with one of her friends,” a prison source told the Mirror. “For her age, she is incredibly active and does a 40 minutes session completing lap after lap without stopping before she needs to be back inside.”

“She is happy to be allowed out in the open once again, where she has at least some semblance of freedom,” this source added. “When not working in the law library, she stays outside in the sun for hours. She is very, very sociable.”

During her latest run, Maxwell could be seen chatting with a fellow inmate, even laughing hysterically with her at times. She is currently at FCI Tallahassee, where she is serving out her twenty year prison sentence after being convicted on charges related to her allegedly grooming young girls for sex with Epstein, and sometimes participating in the abuse herself. Epstein allegedly committed suicide in prison in August of 2019 while awaiting trial on sex crime charges of his own.

Maxwell’s New Life In Florida Prison

Prior to her conviction in June, Maxwell was held for nearly two years at the Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn, where she spent much of her time in solitary confinement. She was moved to the Florida facility after her conviction, and she’s said her life has drastically improved since she got there.

“I saw the sunlight for the first time, and I saw grass for the first time. So that was lovely,” she said just after her arrival. “And the food is actually better here by a large margin.”

Maxwell’s family had petitioned the United Nations about what they described as her unfair treatment at MDC during her time at the Brooklyn facility.

“She is awakened constantly at night and has been subjected, for the 500+ days of her detention, to a ‘suicide watch’ – completely inappropriate in the case of a non-suicidal person – involving a flashlight shone every 15 minutes on her face to check that she is breathing, literally preventing her from sleeping,” the petition read.

Maxwell has said that her experience at her new Florida prison has been much different in a positive way.

“Everybody here so far has been extremely professional, and I have not experienced any of the gross violations of my rights that I experienced at MDC,” she added. “I don’t feel unsafe. And I am perfectly able to live and work here.”

Maxwell’s Future Plans

Maxwell is known as inmate 02879-509 in the America’s Bureau of Prison system, and she is set to be held until May 17, 2037, at which time she’ll be 75 years-old. Since there is no parole in the federal prison system, it’s likely she will serve this entire sentence, should she not be released on appeal. However, if her appeal isn’t a success, sources are saying that she’s also working on an application to serve her time in the United Kingdom.

“Calculations have been carried out as to where Ghislaine would serve the least time behind bars,” a source said. “She is happy to be freed on license just to get out of prison, and her best option for getting out quicker is back in the U.K.”

Many would like Maxwell to reveal the names of other powerful figures who may have been involved in Epstein’s alleged crimes. It will certainly be interesting to see if she ever does that.
