A Fightful report released yesterday revealed that both WWE and AEW expressed interest in Paige, who also wrestles under the name Saraya Knight. Well, seems like she’s chosen to become All Elite, as she debuted on last night’s Dynamite: Grand Slam.

Paige Debuts At Dynamite: Grand Slam

Now going by Saraya, Paige made her AEW debut in Queens, New York last night at Dynamite: Grand Slam. She got a major pop by the live crowd when she arrived after Toni Storm retained her Interim Women’s World Championship.

Storm faced Dr. Britt Baker, Serena Deeb, and Athena in a Four-Way match. She and Athena were “saved” by Saraya when Deeb, Baker, along with Jamie Hayter, were ready to lay a post-match beatdown on them.

Baker was set to place Storm in the Lockjaw when Saraya’s music hit. The heels promptly retreated.

She then let the crowd know “this is my house” and invited Athena and Storm into the ring. The three babyfaces hugged, as the crowd cheered.

What Happens Now As Paige Debuts At Dynamite: Grand Slam?

At the age of 30, Saraya has not wrestled since December 26, 2017. Her last match was a six-woman tag where she suffered a neck injury.

This prompted her to retire from in-ring action. She made this official via an announcement in April 2018.

With that said, Saraya has always made it clear that she hoped to return to action at some point. She desperately wanted to follow in the footsteps of both Bryan Danielson and Edge.

Both superstars were in a similar position to Saraya’s. Both returned to the squared circle after “career-ending” injuries.

When her WWE contract expired this past June, Saraya had hinted that she was very close to being cleared by doctors. Looks like this day has finally come.

What happens next for Saraya? Only time will tell.

Speaking of AEW, the promotion had another meeting with talent yesterday. So, what’s the “vibe” backstage?

AEW’s Backstage “Vibe”

According to Fightful, AEW had a talent meeting before their “Grand Slam” extravaganza. The report notes that the meeting went well.

One veteran of the company told Fightful that the backstage situation has “calmed down” tremendously over the past three weeks. Another talent notes it’s an “addition by subtraction” situation.

Although the talent didn’t state whom they were referring to. As of this writing, there’s no word on who spoke at the meeting.

The overall vibe at the meeting was that it helped to “fire” talent up for the big show that night. It seemed to have done the trick, as Grand Slam offered some incredible highlights.

Can Only Go Up From Here

As per reports, morale on the AEW roster has been wonky. Especially after the backstage squabble between CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks.

As most know by now, the confrontation occurred after Punk’s post-All Out media scrum. It was at this point in time that he decided to rant about AEW’s EVPs.

Omega and the Bucks confronted him after the fact, and the rest is history. The impression is that all those involved in the fiasco were suspended.

This included some who were there at the scene but didn’t get involved in the fight. Pat Buck, who’s on the AEW Talent Relations team, was one such example.

Thankfully, Buck’s suspension has since been lifted. Regardless, now that the air has been cleared, here’s hoping the vibe at AEW continues to be positive.
