Paige is leaving WWE very soon and rumors are already starting. Also, Vince McMahon has big praise for Gunther.

Paige Leaving WWE Soon

Paige will apparently be leaving WWE in the next 30 days. The deal between WWE and Paige ends July 7, meaning she can sign anywhere in less than a month.

Paige had not wrestled since late 2017. During a live event on December 27, Paige was injured in a six person tag bout.

She announced her official retirement on the April 18, 2018 of SmackDown. WWE would not clear her to compete again, so there were only a few options for Paige.

Her most exposure over the last few years was being general manger of SmackDown.

Going forward, a big question will be if Paige wrestles. She seems very interested and leaving WWE will fuel those rumors.

Vince McMahon is apparently pleased with how Gunther is coming along. FightFul noted Gunther has fallen into the good grace of WWE.

“The former WALTER had plenty of people on his side all along, as his lengthy NXT UK Title reign indicated, but we’re told that many things have put him in favor with WWE, stated the report from Fightful. “Among them include his move to the United States, and his dedication to his diet and training.”

“Those that we spoke to within WWE said that Walter getting in shape and being willing to move to the United States after not seeming interested in the latter was a good sign for him.”

For almost 900 days, Gunter (then known as WALTER), was NXT UK Champion. Earlier in the year, he joined the NXT brand and remained dominant.

WWE is looking to make some new stars this summer as Roman Reigns works a lighter schedule. If the fans and McMahon like the Gunther character, the timing might be right.

Certainly, we will know soon enough if Gunther is being groomed for a major push. I doubt he gets another title run that goes several years.

Those huge pushes have been saved for Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
