Major Concern Over Randy Orton, Bandido Offered AEW Contract

Right now, WWE has a major concern over the back injury Randy Orton is dealing with. And, AEW has offered Bandido a contract.

Major Concern Over Randy Orton

Randy Orton has been with WWE for over 20 years. He is considered a lifer and currently sits at 14 World Championship reigns.

Numbers like that put him in an area close to Ric Flair and John Cena. Currently, Orton has been off WWE TV as he deals with a back injury.

Now, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that WWE is very concerned about the injury.

Already, the belief was Orton would miss the rest of year. It seems that those fears could be worse.

Orton spent all of 2022 and part of last year working with Matt Riddle. The chemistry between the two was better than anyone could have imagined.

Once the duo dropped the tag titles to The Usos, WWE confirmed the injury. There was good chance Orton was going to turn on Riddle, but the storyline did not make it that far.

Hopefully, Orton is able to properly heal and return down the road. He is one of WWE’s few active legends on the roster and we wish him a safe recovery.

Earlier in the year, we learned Tony Khan made a big investment. If you thought it invoked AEW, think again.

In fact, Khan decided to purchase Ring of Honor (ROH). Because if the COVID pandemic, ROH was struggling financially.

WWE was interested, but Kahn beat them to the table with his offer. Currently, ROH is only producing shows that air on pay per view and that is not many cards.

So, some of the wrestlers stuck around ROH once Khan made the purchase. Meanwhile, others have been forced to find work elsewhere.

On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho defended his newly won ROH World Championship. In the  main event, he defeated Bandido in a great encounter.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bandido’s performance was enough to be offered an AEW contract. As of now, there is no word if he signed the deal.

“While we don’t have confirmation that Bandido has signed with AEW, we do have confirmation that he was offered a full-time contract immediately after his performance in the loss to Chris Jericho on 9/28 in Philadelphia,” the report stated.

Bandido actually won the ROH World Championship back in 2021. He was unable to make Final Battle, so his title match with Jonathan Gresham was moved to Supercard of Honor XV.

On that card, back in April, c won to unify the titles. Gresham is currently under contract with Khan, but he has expressed displeasure.
