Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall have a new fight date.
Due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the female boxing fight will now take place October 15 instead of September 20. It is still set for The O2 Arena in London.
Airing live and exclusively in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Sky Sports, Shields and Marshall will meet for the undisputed middleweight champion.
Marshall scored a win over Shields several years ago in the amateur ranks. Since, Shields has not lost, winning 12 bouts and becoming the WBA, WBC, IBG, WBF and The Ring middleweight champion.
Marshall is also 12-0 and will be putting her WBO middleweight title on the line in the bout.
The event will also feature Mikaela Mayer vs. Alycia Baumgardner for the unified super featherweight title, airing live on ESPN+ in the United States.
Team GB’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medal hero Lauren Price competes, alongside fellow Team GB favorites Karriss Artingstall and Caroline Dubois who will all look to light up the capital on what promises to be a special evening for the sport.
