Vince McMahon Wanted To Bury Gunther, Drew McIntyre Hurt

Before retiring, Vince McMahon was actually preparing to bury Gunther. Also, Drew McIntyre has been pulled from live events due to a bad back.

Vince McMahon Wanted To Bury Gunther

When WWE started NXT UK, many of the names present American fans were not familiar with. On the other side, the European crowd knew them rather well.

One name WWE wanted to bring in was WALTER. It did not happen at first, but he eventually landed in NXT UK.

And, he was nothing short of impressive, holding the NXT UK Championship for 870 consecutive days. Numbers like that do happen often in the modern era of wrestling, but COVID could have stretched the title reign.

WWE wanted to bring WALTER to the main roster. Yet he had concerns. The biggest was moving to the United States, which he has now done.

All seemed to be going great for WALTER, who now goes by Gunther on the main roster. He even won the Intercontinental Championship.

According to Wrestle Votes, the push was not going to last very long. Apparently, Vince McMahon was going to bury the superstar.

Of course, WWE has changed with Vince McMahon’s retirement. Now, Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are interim co-CEOs and Triple H is running creative.

Already, fans are noticing changes in the product for the better. Therefore, look for more changes to come.

Gunther is favorite of fans, despite being a heel. He has done everything WWE requested, including losing some weight.

Drew McIntyre has a huge test come Clash At The Castle in a few weeks. He is set to challenge Roman Reigns over the Undisputed WE Universal Championship.

To add, the show is coming from the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. It will be only the third pay per view from England and first in nearly two decades.

In some unsettling news, McIntyre has been pulled from upcoming live events. PWInsider reports he is dealing with back problems, which have been an issue for a bit.

McIntyre has already been WWE Champion on two occasions. In fact, the first was defeating Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 37.

Sadly, this was when COVID was out of control and there was no live crowd. When he regained the title, all he had where the ThunderDome fans.

Some thought McIntyre would be the perfect person to defeat Reigns. McIntyre is owed that moment with the fans and coming from Europe would make it that much sweeter.
