Super Prospect Bo Nickal Rolls, But Isn’t Awarded UFC Contract
While Bo Nickale again showed why he is a top prospect, UFC president Dana White wants to see at least one more fight.
Bo Nickal isn’t quite ready for the UFC.
At least according to UFC president Dana White.
Nickal, one of the top prospects in all of mixed martial arts, recorded his second pro victory Tuesday night. He was competing in the main event of Dana White’s Contender Series.
The three-time NCAA Div. I wrestling champion finished Zachary Borrego in 62 seconds. But White said afterwards that he wants to see one more fight.
“I don’t even know what to say,” White said (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes). “He’s amazing. He’s one of the hottest prospects in the sport.
“He’s 2-0, so what we’d like to do is offer him another fight in the Contender Series. If he wins that one, we’d like to invite him into the UFC.”
Nickal showed his wrestling prowess and ever-developing submission games in the win, taking Borrego down and locking up the finish.

While he wasn’t awarded a contract from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, three others were. The UFC made extensions to Jamal Pogues, Erik Silva and Clayton Carpenter after they all scored convincing wins.
