Sharon Osbourne, the British television personality who is married to the Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, has done some crazy things over the years, but there’s one thing that haunts her to this day.
Osbourne revealed back in 2004 that she suffered three miscarriage because of damage to her cervix that was the result of her getting an abortion at 17 years of age.
“I had an abortion at 17 and it was the worst thing I ever did. It was the first time I’d had sex, and that was rotten,” she told Daily Mail at the time. “I’d always thought it was going to be all violins, and it was just awful.”
“I went alone. I was terrified. It was full of other young girls, and we were all terrified and looking at each other and nobody was saying a bloody word. I howled my way through it, and it was horrible.”

Osbourne went on to urge others not to get an abortion.
“I would never recommend it to anyone because it comes back to haunt you. When I tried to have children, I lost three — I think it was because something had happened to my cervix during the abortion,” she said. “After three miscarriages, they had to put a stitch in it.”
“In life, whatever it is, you pay somewhere down the line,” Osbourne concluded. “You have to be accountable.”
Thankfully, Osbourne was able to have three children with her husband even after this traumatic experience.
Osbourne opened up about this ordeal further in 2020, saying that she was “terrified” to tell her parents that she got pregnant as a teenager.
“They would’ve been disappointed in me. I would’ve been a failure. My father would’ve just gone ballistic,” she said, according to The Sun. “In fact I went, I had an abortion, I came home. I was so ill. I was so sick. I had to tell my mother because she was calling the doctor. I had to tell my mother. She basically said you did this.”
“‘You’ve got to go through this on your own. You think you’re such a big girl. You do it on your own,'” Osbourne recalled her mother saying. “I was like, ‘Okay I get it.’ You are terrified.”
Osbourne went on to double down by saying that after her abortion, she felt “afraid” and “so alone.”
“So alone, the shame I brought onto this family,” she recalled. “God forbid anybody should find out. I can’t do this to my parents. I didn’t think of her as how can you say this to me you’re my mom. I kept thinking, ‘oh my God the shame I caused this family.’”
These days, it seems like celebrities are more pro-abortion than ever, so it’s nice to see someone in the spotlight presenting the other side of abortions. We’re so sorry that Osbourne had to go through all this, but we’re glad that she’s telling her story. In doing so, hopefully, she can convince other girls to think twice before getting abortions.
