Former UFC champion Robert Whittaker was a recent guest on Submission Radio.

Whittaker, who returns to action in September against Marvin Vettori, talked about a number of subjects.

After winning three straight, Whittaker was given a rematch with Israel Adesanya. He was unable to overcome the reigning champion, falling via decision.

Now, he’ll try to get back on track against Vettori.

“He’s just tenacious, he’s relentless, he’s tough as nails. Yeah, and he’s very well-rounded as well. You’ve got to give it to him. Respect where it’s due, and he’s good at his job, he’s good at his sport. Yeah, he’ll beat a lot of people just on grit alone, you know, and I’m looking forward to a hard fight, a very hard fight. But I’m gonna give it to him. 15 minutes, I’m gonna give it to him and see how he handles it.

“I know he’s tough. He’s tough as nails, but I’m looking forward to trying to crack that nut. I’m looking forward to just going in there and just seeing how much I can give him and how much he can take. And yeah, it’s a challenge in itself, it’s a part of the fun.”
