WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler made a splashing return to Monday Night RAW this week. He’s returned as a babyface and got involved in the main event tag match between Austin Theory and Seth Rollins versus Matt Riddle and Bobby Lasley. A new report outlines the reason behind Ziggler’s latest run.

Reason For Dolph Ziggler RAW Run

For anyone who’s attended a recent WWE house show, then you’d know that Ziggler has been working with Theory during matches. The WWE took the leap and placed them together on television this week.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, the reason behind this is to “groom” Theory into a long-term heel and top star. Meltzer states that with Ziggler being a babyface, he’s a good person to oppose.

Dave notes that they (WWE) are determined to make Austin Theory “into something”. He also says that Dolph is a good veteran and worker to help make Theory into a better wrestler.

Not to mention the fact that working with Dolph, Ziggler will “make” Austin look good. If they want him to be a top star and heel, then this is a great strategy.

Dolph Ziggler is someone who’s literally “done it all” in the land of the WWE. Since debuting in the company in 2004, he’s been NXT Champion, held the World Heavyweight Championship twice, been U.S. Champion twice, and held the IC title six times.

In addition, he’s held the SmackDown Tag Team titles, RAW Tag Team titles, and WWE Tag titles. He was also Mr. Money in the Bank in 2012.

Speaking of top stars, it looks like the WWE has some major plans for an NXT talent. More on this story, below.

“Big” Plans For Nikkita Lyons & NXT

On the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer also chimes in on Nikkita Lyons. According to Dave, the company is quite high on her.

In fact, there’s already been buzz that she could win the NXT Women’s Championship. However, this would long down the road.

Meltzer notes that Bron Breakker and Mandy Rose are the “flagship” superstars of NXT 2.0 currently. Still, that could change (and will) change at some point.

Nikkita Lyons’s History With The WWE

While it won’t be for a while, it’s exciting to know that Nikkita Lyons will shine in the NXT spotlight. Maybe not anytime soon, but at some point.

In 2018, she started her professional wrestling training under Selina Majors. She would debut in the Women of Wrestling (WoW) promotion, before signing with WWE.

Lyons’s debuted with the WWE on New Year’s Eve, 2021 on 205 Live. She would enter the land of NXT in February 2022.

During her short tenure with the company, she wrestled Natalya, was a part of the NXT Women’s Breakout tourney, and defeated Arianna Grace. Unfortunately, due to an injury, she was pulled out of the tournament in May of this year.

Nikkita returned on the June 28th edition of NXT. She would end up defeating Mandy Rose, NXT Women’s Champion, by DQ.

Foreshadowing the future? Sounds like the sky’s the limit for Lyons in the WWE.
