Last week, we reported that Colin Kaepernick had done a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders, marking the first time that he had done a workout with an NFL team in five years. Now, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is speaking out about Kaepernick, saying that he would fit in “great” with the team.

‘He’d Get Along Great With Our Guys’

“I don’t want to speak for everybody in that kind of sense — I don’t want someone mad at me for saying, ‘I think it would be great,’ — but I know him and I would get along great,” Carr said Tuesday after the Raiders’ first mandatory minicamp practice.

“I know we have in the past, and I think we would again. I think for the most part, I think he’d get along great with our guys,” he added, according to ESPN

Carr went on to say that he has known Kaepernick since they both played in the Western Athletic Conference, with Fresno State and Nevada, respectively, back in 2009.

‘I Think He’s A Great Guy’

“I remember our days back then, and just watching him and what he did in college and getting to know him and talking to him on the phone,” Carr continued. “I’ve told you guys, I’ve loved my time with him. I think he’s a great guy. He’s been great to be around. I’ve enjoyed being around him, talking with him, competing against him.”

Carr went on to say that while he did not see Kaepernick during the May 25 workout, he was told about it by new Raiders coach Josh McDaniels.

“I literally said the same thing I’m telling you — I’ve enjoyed my time around him, I love him,” Carr recalled. “Him and I would get along great.

“I think they did it in the afternoon, and I was already on the golf course with my two older boys,” he added of the workout timing.

Kaepernick’s History

Kaepernick became an infamous figure during his time as a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers when he began taking a knee during the national anthem before his games. While he claimed he was doing this to protest against racial inequality in America, many saw this as a clear sign of disrespect to the American flag, and those who have fought and died for it.

Kaepernick has not been signed by another NFL team since he left the 49ers at the end of the 2016 season, and while liberals have tried to claim that this is because the NFL is “racist,” others have cited his abysmal losing record during his final season with the 49ers as the reason behind this.

After the disrespect that Kaepernick has repeatedly shown towards our country, he does not deserve to be playing in the NFL. For this reason, we can only hope that the Raiders do not sign him.
