Gun violence has become a hot topic in the United States recently, which has been heavily debated as of late in the land of politics. WWE Hall of Famer, Kane recently comments on this topic via Twitter, and it has angered some other wrestlers.

Kane, whose real name is Glenn Jacobs, is currently Knox County mayor. He hopped on Twitter to share a video regarding the statistics around gun violence in the U.S.

He also added an accompanying tweet to the video, as seen above. The post garnered a lot of reactions on social media, including some negative attention from former WWE colleagues.

Kane’s ex-WWE Tag Team partner and friend Sean Waltman took to Twitter to respond to Jacob’s post. He noted that he disagreed with Kane and was disappointed to see his comment.

In addition, former WWE superstar Lance Storm also replied to Kane’s tweet. He proposed a question to Kane, making reference to the recent mass shooting that took place in Uvalde, TX.

Kane and Sean Waltman (as X-Pac) snagged the WWE Tag Titles together twice. They earned the Pro Wrestling Illustrated “Tag Team of the Year” in 1999.

Jacobs was elected Knox County mayor in the summer of 2018. Last year, he announced he’d be running for a second term.

During Kane’s run as mayor, he’s still made sporadic appearances on WWE TV. He was even inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame in 2021.

More recently, Kane appeared backstage during an episode of RAW while the company was in Knoxville, TN. Meanwhile, Sean Waltman returned to the squared circle in 2022, with a match against Joey Janella in Dallas, TX.

Speaking of controversy, AEW has had its fair share of this lately. But who knew the most recent one would be about a new title?

AEW Adds Yet Another Title

All Elite Wrestling (AEW), already has a number of championships circulating. With that said, they announced another one during this week’s Dynamite.

The All-Atlantic Championship debuted with an announcement and video package. The first champion will be determined in a tournament.

The new All-Atlantic Champion will be crowned at Forbidden Door, taking place on Sunday, June 26th. The first match of the tourney will be Buddy Matthews versus Pac, taking place this week.

Fans Have Mixed Feelings

While AEW has a huge roster, it does feel as if they have a lot of championships at the moment. Plus, some fans were hoping trios titles would be announced.

There’s also been buzz about AEW Women’s Tag Titles coming to the company. However, this may not end up happening, after all.

AEW has grown significantly since it officially started back in 2019. It initially began airing the show Dynamite, and then started another weekly TV program (Rampage) in the summer of 2021.

While many fans may believe there are “too many” titles in AEW, it’ll be interesting to see how the tournament unfolds. It’ll be even more interesting to see who will be crowned the first-ever All-Atlantic Champion.
