Wes Lee recently lost his NXT tag team partner, Nash Carter, when the WWE released him due to a controversial photo that was released. Now it seems the company might be aligning him with someone new. Details are below.
Nathan Frazer debuted on NXT last night, gaining a win off Grayson Waller. While backstage, Frazer was confronted by Xyon, but Lee came to the newbie’s defense.
During the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, both Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez chat about a possible partnership between Frazer and Lee. If the duo were to form a new version of MSK, this could help both of them in the long run.
Given that Lee did come to Frazer’s aid, it seems like that is the plan. However, nothing yet has been confirmed. Meltzer did note that the pairing would “make sense” and give Nathan a “good shot”.
Lee could use a partner, and Frazer’s looking to make a name for himself. The two could make a great tag team, so fans will have to wait and see.
Over to the land of AEW, there’s news on the company bringing back the Blood & Guts match. Details on this, below.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, AEW is gearing up for the return of the Blood & Guts match. He doesn’t know who would be in the bout, or when it’ll happen, but it may involve the Jericho Appreciation Society.
The do have have five men in their stable. Plus, on the recent edition of AEW Dynamite, they were looking at seven opponents.
Last night, the faction was confronted by Santana, Ortiz, Eddie Kingston, and the Blackpool Combat Club (four members). Therefore, this could be arrows pointing in the direction of a Blood & Guts match.
William Regal and Jericho are set to rumble in a promo segment next week on Dynamite. It looks like Creative is building a confrontation for Double Or Nothing, but this doesn’t mean it’ll all equal out to a Blood & Guts match.
With that said, how can fans forget Regal’s infamous screaming of “War Games” during his stint as NXT GM? This stipulation is closest thing AEW has to that, so it could be a red flag around what’s coming.
Jake Hager and Jericho were involved in the inaugural B&G match. That one had The Pinnacle defeating Inner Circle.
Still, that was done during the pandemic, which didn’t get a full crowd to fully enjoy the magnitude of this match. While it was incredible, it’s only natural for fans to wonder what will the next one look like.
It’s interesting to note that the B&G bout has an insane history, with the original match completely cancelled because of COVID-19. That bout was supposed to be the Inner Circle versus The Elite, but was scrapped.
What will the next Blood & Guts match look like? Only time will tell!
