UFC Fight Night Results: Jan Blachowicz Serves Notice, Earns Victory
Former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz picked up his first win since dropping the title at UFC Fight Night Saturday.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz scored a key win Saturday at UFC Fight Night.
Blachowicz was declared the TKO winner over Aleksandar Rakic in the main event after Rakic was injured. The right leg of Rakic appeared to be hurt, ending the fight in the third round.
It was a back-and-forth contest between the top contenders live on ESPN2 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
The co-main event saw Ryan Spann scored an upset win over Ion Cutelaba. Spann weathered the initial storm of Spann, locking in a guillotine choke in the first round.
Davey Grant finished Louis Smolka, Katlyn Chookagian, Manuel Torres and Allan Nascimento were main card winners.
Chookagian claimed a split decision over Amanda Ribas, Torres finished Frank Camacho and Nascimento bested Jake Hadley.
On the prelims, veteran Michael Johnson picked up a second round knockout of Alan Patrick. Viviane Araujo, Virna Jandiroba, Tatsuro Taira and Andre Petroski were also winners.
