The PFL Playoffs In 2022 Are Going To Be Bigger Than Ever
The 2022 PFL playoffs will head to New York City, along with the first international events taking place in London and Cardiff.
The upcoming 2022 PFL playoffs are shaping up to be bigger than ever.
While the second half of the regular season kicks off in June, the promotion has made plans for the postseason. And that includes New York City.
Up first will be that NYC card on August 5 from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. From there, the PFL will head to Cardiff, Wales and London, England for the second and third events in the playoffs.
The card in Cardiff from Motorpoint Arena is scheduled for August 13, while the London card goes down from the Copperbox Arena.
This will mark the very first time that the SmartCage and the promotion take the action overseas. Live Nation, a music and entertainment promoter, will be helping host the international and playoff events.
“We’re thrilled to announce our international partnership with Live Nation as the world’s top music and entertainment promoter makes its move into the world’s fastest growing sport,” said PFL CEO Peter Murray. “MMA fans in the United Kingdom will experience PFL’s star fighters battle it out for a shot at the PFL World Championship and the $6 million dollar prize money.”
Second half regular season events are scheduled for June 17, June 24 and July 1 in Atlanta.

The pathway to the 2022 PFL championships and $1 million purse that comes with it will begin with a field of 24 fighters across six divisions. Each of the three playoff events will feature the top-four fighters across two weight divisions battling to earn a spot in the final – the biggest night in MMA – with no other sports league able to match the thrilling action in this win-and-advance, lose-and-go-home format.
