Luke Rockhold is expected to face Paulo Costa at UFC 277 this summer.

But the former champion doesn’t believe it will happen.

At least not on that date.

Rockhold and Costa are still scheduled for the July 30 event featuring a rematch between bantamweight champion Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes. But as he told Submission Radio recently, Costa wants to delay the fight again.

“It’s been a headache and process, (and he) just doesn’t make it easy,” Rockhold said. “It’s just, I don’t know what he’s doing behind the scenes, getting veneers or getting his (expletive) whole face redone, getting a new nose? What’s next? I don’t know. But everything, I think he’s getting all his cosmetic work probably or something, is what I think’s going on, cause he just keeps delaying. He might come out looking like Caitlin Jenner. You never know.”

Rockhold explained that they were scheduled to meet July 2 during International Fight Week. The bout was rebooked for later that month, but Rockhold is hearing August might be when they finally square off.

“He’s trying to delay the fight again to August 20th. This guy is… something’s going on behind the scenes. I don’t know what you’re doing over there, Caitlin,” Rockhold said. “The contract was signed and now he’s trying to move it again, making room for all these detailed things that he’s working on. Maybe a new booty?”

The 37-year-old Rockhold is coming off back-to-back knockout losses to Jan Blachowicz and Yoel Romero. His last official win was in 2017 when he submitted David Branch.
