In the wake of the horrific school shooting that took place at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, the left has been trying to politicize the tragedy by using it to call for stricter gun control laws.

However, Mike Fisher, the former professional hockey player husband of the country music sensation Carrie Underwood, is defying the left to call for a very different response to the shooting.

Fisher Sounds Off

Hello Magazine reported that Fisher took to his Instagram Stories to share the following post, which was written by Republican Tennessee congressional candidate Robby Starbuck:

“AMERICAN politicians gave $40 BILLION to politicians in UKRAINE last week. Some of that $ was used to pay Ukrainian politicians. Now imagine if we used that $40 BILLION for security at our schools instead. It’s obvious which expense would more positively impact American citizens.”

Fisher added a “100” emoji along with the post, indicating that he agrees with it 100%.

Uvalde Shooting

Underwood herself has stayed quiet about the shooting, which took place at Robb Elementary school and resulted in the death of 19 fourth grade students as well as their two teachers. The gunman has been identified as 18 year-old Salvador Ramos, who police say burst into the school and barricaded himself in one classroom planning to kill.

Lt. Christopher Olivarez of the Department of Public Safety told the Associated Press that Ramos “barricaded himself by locking the door and just started shooting children and teachers that were inside that classroom.”

“It just shows you the complete evil of the shooter,” he continued.

Ramos’ rampage finally came to an end when a heroic Border Patrol agent charged the school without backup and began exchanging fire with the gunman, eventually killing him. While the agent was wounded in the exchange, he was able to walk out of the school himself afterwards.

Chris Pratt Honors Uvalde Victims

Fisher is thankfully not the only celebrity who has not used the Uvalde shooting to fuel the left’s gun-grabbing agenda.

“Like the rest of us I’m devastated and heartbroken,” the Hollywood star Chris Pratt wrote on his Instagram Story, according to Fox News. “This type of evil is unfathomable.”

“I’m praying for the families of each of these children, for these beautiful souls taken far too soon,” he added. “I simply cannot imagine what the parents are going through. I’m so sorry.”

Kim Kardashian Calls For Gun Control

Unfortunately, other celebrities like Kim Kardashian wasted no time in politicizing the shooting to help the left’s agenda.

“Is it more important to protect the second amendment than to protect our own children?” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I find myself heartbroken, disgusted and furious about how little has been done by law makers to enact gun laws that protect our children.”

“There is no excuse and no justification for what happened yesterday,” Kardashian continued. “The current laws in our country around gun control are not protecting our children. We have to push law makers to enact laws that are fitting in today’s world.”

We can all agree that this was an unspeakable tragedy, but the focus right now should be on the lives that were lost and the families of the victims, not on political agendas.
