Jorge Masvidal

For the first time, Jorge Masvidal is talking about his recent incident.

Masvidal attacked Colby Covington days after facing him at UFC 272. The result led to the former title challenger being arrested on assault charges.

“I was (expletive) irate,” Masvidal said, during an interview with Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes). “I was upset, and I just like to be in isolation when I get like that. It’s better for me.

“Take a couple days to figure it out and if I have a problem and I can’t figure it out, then it’s a real problem.”

Masvidal declined to discuss the charges and incident outside the Octagon, but vows to be a better fight inside of it.

“Getting right back to work, in a different way,” he said. “With wrestlers, when they take me out of my element and they’re able to keep pressing that hugging game, even when I do bring it to a neutral, I’m like, I spent a lot of extra power doing that.”

Now, Masvidal wants to work with Penn State University to improve in his wrestling.

“I’m gonna go spend some time in Pennsylvania, wrestle in the morning, wrestle at night, wrestle in the morning, wrestle at night,” he said. “I’ve just got to sharpen it up before fights.”
