WWE has announced a new batch of recruits joining the Performance Center. The usual mix of indie wrestlers and high-level athletes is there, but this class has a few extra members of particular note.

Rok-C became ROH’s first (and perhaps last) womens’ champion. At only 20 years old, she is known as a prodigy in the business for her meteoric rise. I saw Rok-C wrestle the now-disgraced Joey Ryan right before the pandemic. She had just turned 18, but her potential was already visible. She had a chance to work on a good stage at ROH and now will join the dynamic women’s division in NXT 2.0
Lavalley trained under Natalia Hart and Tyson Kidd at their new “Dungeon” located in Florida. He was previously featured on a SummerSlam panel after winning a fan contest in 2014.
According to Instagram, Lavalley also trained with Liv Morgan at the new Hart facility. There have been videos of the two training together in a ring while Kidd and Hart look on.
Carelli is the daughter of WWE veteran Santino Marella, who trained her in her native Canada. She is also an experienced MMA fighter and judoka.
Other signees include
Amelia Herr. She wrestled on AEW’s Dark as The Notorious Mimi against Kiera Hogan.
Kayla Inlay has already wrestled on NXT Level Up and was trained by Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears.
The class continues WWE’s shift away from signing well-known indie talent. Rok-C is the only “name” in this glass of mostly former athletes and those very early in their wrestling careers.
After years of failing to convert indie stars to the WWE formula, the company decided to return to their old ways of taking raw athletes and molding them into the Superstars of tomorrow.
While a lot of fans and a few wrestlers mourn the loss of the “Black and Gold” brand, NXT 2.0 is already building a solid brand with fresh wrestlers and great storylines.
