‘NCIS’ Cast And Crew Hit With Mysterious Illness – Spreading Fast On Set

A mysterious illness is reportedly plaguing the set of the CBS drama “NCIS,” and it’s spreading quickly on the show’s set.

Mysterious Illness Plagues ‘NCIS’

Daily Mail reported that at least 18 members of the cast and crew of “NCIS” have become sick with an illness whose symptoms have been compared to food poisoning. The cast and crew are vomiting.

Filming for “NCIS,” which starred Mark Harmon for 18 years and is currently in its 19th season, is taking place in Valencia, California.

A source told TMZ that show executives are “having Zoom meetings” to try and figure out how to handle this strange illness. This insider went on to describe this sickness as a minor one that has “mild symptoms.” 

With no explanation as to where this illness stems from, “NCIS” remains in production at the time of this writing.

Harmon’s Exit From ‘NCIS’

Harmon exited “NCIS” last year after 18 seasons, but it’s been implied that his exit may not be final. He does appear on a few episodes this season. And, he has also remained on as an executive producer on the show.

“As an executive producer and dear friend, Mark continues to be an integral part of the fabric of the show,” show runner Steve Binder told Deadline last year. “Our north star has always been staying true to our characters, and that truth has always guided the stories we tell and where those characters go. So regarding the future of Gibbs, as long-time fans of the show may have noticed over the years…never count Leroy Jethro Gibbs out.”

CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl reiterated at the time that Harmon would not be leaving the “NCIS” world completely.

“Mark’s always been part of the show, Mark’s always going to be part of the show,” Kahl said. “In terms of his on-air appearances, we’re just going to have to see how it plays out going forward.”

What Harmon Would Do If He Wasn’t An Actor

Interestingly enough, when Men’s Journal asked Harmon what he would be if he was not an actor, he said he would “be a carpenter. I tried to do that, but I just couldn’t get hired. I enjoyed getting up and doing that in the morning; I enjoyed the drive to work.”

“For me it was about materials and doing right,” he added. “If you did it right, [the project] outlasted you. I still enjoy [carpentry], but I think that’s probably what I would have been trying to do had I not been [acting]. I took a job in an ad firm and worked there for about four years. I got a promotion to another ad-based job—a national sales rep position at a shoe company—so I was kind of a shoe salesman for about seven months.”

“NCIS” is an incredible show that has brought joy to millions for decades. We would love to see Harmon back on it full-time, and we hope that the illness that is currently plaguing those on set does not get any worse.
