Meghan Markle estranged father

Meghan Markle’s father Thomas has been estranged from his daughter since before her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. That’s why it came as a surprise this week when he spoke out to send a message to Queen Elizabeth, Meghan’s grandmother-in-law.

Thomas Markle’s Message To The Queen

Thomas spoke out to congratulate the 95-year-old Queen on her record-breaking 70 years on the British throne, a milestone that she is celebrating this year with her Platinum Jubilee.

“I would like to congratulate Her Majesty the Queen on her Jubilee and wish her good health and good will for many years to come,” Thomas told The Sun

Though Sunday was the actual 70 year anniversary of the day the Queen took the throne, the Platinum Jubilee celebration is not scheduled to take place until June, according to Insider.

Meghan and Harry were noticeably silent about on the Queen’s big day, not issuing any statement about it.

Jesús Enrique Rosas, who is known as The Body Language Guy on YouTube, posted a video to YouTube explaining why he sees this as “a declaration of war” from the couple, and you can check that out below.

‘I’d Love To See My Grandchildren’

Thomas has long been trying to get back in Meghan’s good graces, as he is desperate to meet his two young grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

“I’d love to see my grandchildren,” Thomas said in October, according to Page Six. “People have suggested in California I could sue to see my grandkids. But I think if I did that I’d be doing the same thing Meghan and Harry are doing.”

“I don’t want to include my grandchildren in this situation, I want to see my grandchildren with friendly parents and friendship all around,” he added. “I don’t want hostile parents when seeing my grandchildren. So I’ll wait.”

‘This Is Way Too Childish’

Thomas went on to say that he believes Meghan will eventually come around to him again.

“Eventually she’ll start talking to me. This is way too childish, this is kind of silly,” he said. “It’s time to talk with each other, we’re family. The kids are going to grow up without knowing they have two families. This is more than just me and my daughter now — this is me, my daughter, her husband and two babies. So it’s time to do something. To talk.”

Life is too short to hold grudges, particularly when it comes to family. Regardless of how justified Meghan feels her estrangement from her father is, we hope she reconsiders it and thinks about letting him back into her life again.
