Legends Who Should Come Back For Title Shots

With Goldberg, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Sting, Christian, and now Lita having second acts in their career and vying for championships and making comebacks, it got me thinking about what other legends I would love to come back to WWE and get a title shot.

From the realistic to the not happening, Let’s dive in.

The Rock N Roll Express

The famed Rock n Roll Express has been rocking and wrestling for 40 years. 2022 will see an end to the greatest tag of all time as Ricky Morton looks to work more with his up-and-coming son, Kerry Morton.

But it wouldn’t be amazing if the Express had one last run in WWE, feuding with The New Day or The Usos for one final run.

For those worried, RnR can still wrestle and go in the ring and are wrestling top teams outside of WWE, like FTR.

The Rock

It is when the Rock decided to do one final run. He has unfinished business in the ring, and with Roman building up to be the most dominant star of all time, Rock would be smart to do one more WrestleMania-level run against the Head of the Table. Not only would this feud help take Roman to that next level he can get to, but it could prove to be a good capstone on Rock’s wrestling career.

A good angle here would be Dwayne Johnson, bored of dominating Hollywood, wants to prove that he still has it in the ring, only for Roman to strike him down.

Hulk Hogan

Yea, this one isn’t going to happen, frankly shouldn’t happen, etc. Though I am surprised the Saudis haven’t tried to give Hulkster a few million to come out of retirement.

I would love Roman to have a short feud with the Hulkster. Hogan is beat-up and barely mobile, but maybe that’s part of the story. He tries to Hulk up and shows flashes of what he used to be, but then Roman ultimately crushes him. If they are building to Roman defeating the Rock somewhere down the road (and I believe they are), then having Roman beat every big star from the past and present only makes sense.

Trish Stratus

Lita’s return opens the door for other women of the Attitude Era to come back. Trish is the obvious first choice. I would love Trish vs. Sasha Banks, but the real money is Trish vs. Liv Morgan. Battle of the Blondes!

Honorable Mentions

  • Old School Ladies: Medusa, Ivory, and Jazz would be fun to bring back to feud against the current rosters of AEW and WWE.
  • Jeff Jarrett: He is still very active in the indies. It would be fun for Jarrett to come back for a feud.
