Kelly Clarkson’s bitter divorce from her ex Brandon Blackstock has been ongoing for nearly two years, and the singer and talk show host admitted this week that she feels “so broken” while quarantining at home with her children over the past few days.
Now, it’s been revealed that Clarkson is seeking a surprising name change.

Daily Mail reported that Clarkson, 39, has filed legal papers to officially change her name to Kelly Brianne, which is her middle name.
She said in the filing that she has the “desire” to make the name change because the “new name more fully reflects who” she is.
Clarkson never legally took Blackstock’s name, and she was born Kelly Brianne Clarkson.
The former “American Idol” winner is known to have had a tumultuous relationship with her late father Stephen Michael Clarkson, which is perhaps partly why she wants to make this name change at this time.

Clarkson Struggling In Quarantine
Clarkson has been absent from her talk show the past few days as she quarantines at home with the two young children she shares with Blackstock, seemingly doing so for reasons related to COVID-19, although the singer has not confirmed this.
On Tuesday’s episode of her talk show, Clarkson appeared virtually during a segment in which she talked to actress Taraji P. Henson who has been filling in for her.
“Sometimes women don’t rise,” Clarkson said with a laugh. “Sometimes we fall.”
“I thought we were done with quarantining, and I’m so tired,” the single mother of two added. “I broke a nail. I’m so broken. This is me broken. My almond milk just expired. America, this is what I look like.”

While Clarkson did not reveal exactly why she is in quarantine, she let her fans know that she does not feel sick. This indicates that if she tested positive for COVID-19, she’s asymptomatic.
“I’m not even sick! It’s so weird. Anyway, we’re keeping it safe,” Clarkson said.
Clarkson And Her Children’s Favorite Movie
Clarkson is mother to a 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son, and she told Henson that the three of them can’t stop watching the Disney movie Encanto.
“We’ve seen it so much but it’s so cute,” she said.

Clarkson first filed for divorce from Blackstock in June of 2020, and while they since seem to have come to a custody agreement, they are still fighting over property and assets. For the sake of their children, we hope that they can put an end to this divorce soon so that they can all move on with their lives.
