Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck being back together is still very odd. What was once Hollywood’s punch-line couple has matured into one of Tinseltown’s greatest love stories. Both have grown a great deal, and getting back together after almost 20 years apart is a testament to that. But how are they handling it? JLO dished it all out in a recent interview with “People.”

“It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”
Speaking on finding each other once again, Lopez notes that she and Affleck have grown and matured a lot since their first whirlwind romance took Hollywood and the tabloids by storm.
“We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience.”
Lopez notes that their age and experience have prepared them for a relationship under the intense spotlight. Having gone through an intensely watched relationship together previously, Bennifer knows what to look out for and how to handle themselves and the press.

“We’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things.”
One notable difference from their previous relationship is that both Affleck and Lopez are parents.
Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, Lopez has twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
While acknowledging it can be tricky, Lopez said that love is what is helping to make this new reality work.
“It’s all about how loving, open, and accepting you can be. Not having an ego about things and just embracing all the good, always looking at the positive.”

Both Affleck &and Lopez have ridden highs and lows in the last few decades. Notably, Affleck has struggled with sobriety, infidelity, and worries that bad decisions might finish his career after some missteps.
“When you’re in a good, healthy relationship, everybody benefits from that. Everybody.”
I’m glad Affleck was able to get straightened out. Sobriety is hard, especially when you have built your whole life around getting loaded and see getting high as an easy escape.
I like Ben Affleck a lot. I think he’s a great actor and capable director. I hope he and Jennifer can continue to be good for each other and their families moving forward.
I usually don’t care about celebrity relationships, and I don’t care about this one. But I think these two have been through so much that perhaps getting back together can help each other stay on a solid path to success.
