Candace Cameron Bure Breaks Down When She Recalls Final Texts With Bob Saget

Comedian and television host Bob Saget passed away suddenly last month at the age of 65 of an apparent heart attack.

In a new interview on Thursday morning, his former “Full House” costar Candace Cameron Bure broke down in tears as she revealed that she and Saget had gotten into a fight in their final conversation via text message.

Cameron Bure Breaks Down

“We were going to have dinner. And we got into a little tiff. And his flight was delayed. We ended up not having dinner,” a visibly emotional Cameron Bure, 45, said while appearing on the “Today” show.

But in Bob fashion, the next day he wrote me, like, what would be pages long of a text. And he was apologizing, saying he was cranky and he was just so sorry.”

She went on to say that Saget proceeded to compare himself to his mother Dolly, who died back in 2004.

“He said, ‘Oh, now I feel even worse. I was so wrong. You’re, like, my favorite person on the Earth and I acted like Dolly. I was getting ready to take a late flight, and I was annoyed,’” Cameron Bure recalled. “Bob went on and on and on in the text. And he said at the end, ‘I love you more for the trouble you’re giving me, if that’s even possible.’”

Cameron Bure Chokes Up

Cameron Bure choked up as she talked about texting him back that she loved him.

“I wrote back … ‘I could never be mad at you. Roll my eyes at you? Yes. But never mad,’” she said, adding that she told Saget, “‘And I love that [you’re being like] Dolly. That made me laugh out loud. I loved your mom.’”

“I love you,” Saget replied. “My mom loved you too.”

Cameron Bure explained that this text exchange means so much to her that she is afraid to mess with it in any way.

“I’m so scared that I’m going to pull up his text and then accidentally delete it one day,” she said as she cried. “It scares me so much because I don’t ever want to lose this.”

Saget’s Death

Saget was found dead in a Florida hotel room on January 9, one day after he had performed a standup comedy show in Orlando.

While the official cause of death has not been revealed, police have said that there is no sign of foul play or drug abuse. The full investigation and autopsy report could take 10-12 weeks to complete. Though, they have speculated that something sudden like a heart attack led to his death.

Cameron Bure’s emotional interview shows that Saget’s friends and family are still struggling to come to terms with his sudden passing. Please join us in saying a prayer for them during this difficult time.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
