He’s been busy with The Miz, so what’s in store for Edge in 2022? Plus, after an abrupt retirement, it seems Nia Jax really is moving on from wrestling.

What’s In Store For Edge In 2022

The Rated-R Superstar has been busy having fun with The Miz and Maryse…so what’s in store for Edge in 2022?

Well, according to some rumblings, the part-time Superstar might be eyeing a full time schedule.

At least, for a little bit anyways.

Many expect that program Edge is working with The Miz and Maryse to ultimately loop in his own Hall of Fame wife.

After all, Beth Phoenix resigned from her announcing duties with NXT in December.

With that move, fans expected it to only be a matter of time before the Glamazon worked alongside her husband Edge.

Thus far, she has not popped up…but who knows what might happen with Day One later tonight.

Regardless of that outcome, what’s in store for Edge in 2022 seems to include a busy January.

Specifically, according to PWInsider, Edge is currently slated for several episodes of RAW between now and the Royal Rumble.

If I were a betting man, those appearances would possibly be building toward a mixed-tag match. What remains to be seen is whether we will see said mixed-tag match happen during the Rumble.

Or, would WWE opt to save such a mixed-tag match for one of the two nights of WrestleMania?

It would not be impossible for all four Superstars to work both a tag match and the Rumble. However, it would seem unlikely for WWE to keep Edge and Miz out of the Rumble.

That being said, while such a mixed-tag might be popular for what it is…I can’t help but think such a match at WrestleMania would be a step down.

After all, Edge made his triumphant return at the Rumble in 2020, with one goal in mind-to become WWE Champion once again.

He came close last year, but surely would love another shot at a title. A mixed-tag at WrestleMania would be a far cry from that.

Nia Jax Moving On From Wrestling

Late in 2021, the company moved on from Nia Jax, and she promptly retired. Now, Nia Jax has made it clear she is moving on from wrestling.

At least for now, anyways.

Because, if pro wrestling has taught us anything, it’s taught us to never say never…

Still, following her release, Nia Jax retired. It seemed likely she would pursue various interests outside of pro wrestling.

Before her time with WWE, she had been a model. It seemed likely she might spend time doing that again.

In a recent session on Instagram, as picked up via Ringside News, a fan asked Nia Jax what she had planned for life after wrestling.

Her response?

She is starting her own business, and she’s already taken her first steps to get it off the ground.

Given her connections, should she ever want another shot in the ring, she seems likely to find an opportunity.

For now, she certainly seems focused on finding success outside of WWE, and we wish her the best.
