Piers Morgan Prince Harry

British television personality Piers Morgan is blasting Prince Harry as a “shameless, deluded, woefully entitled hypocrite” after the Royal filed a lawsuit against the British government seeking a “judicial review” challenging the Home Office decision to deny him police protection when he visits the United Kingdom.

Newsweek reported that Harry is claiming that he and his wife Meghan Markle can’t come to the U.K. unless they are given security by the Metropolitan Police. He’s even offering to pay for the security team himself if he has to.

Harry has since been met with tons of backlash for this. He’s the one who decided to step down as a Senior Royal with his wife, a decision that means they forego the perks of being Royal that include security from the government.

Pierce Morgan Sounds Off

In his latest column for The Sun, Morgan did not hesitate to call Harry out for his hypocrisy.

“There are now three cast-iron certainties in life: death, taxes, and Prince Harry behaving like a shameless, deluded, woefully entitled hypocrite,” Morgan wrote. “There was a wearisome inevitability that just when the Queen least needed her renegade royal grandson to pipe up whining again from his Californian mansion, he would do exactly that.”

“The petulant prince is threatening legal action—is there ever a time when he isn’t?—unless the Home Office caves and restores the royal security he enjoyed before his dramatic flounce to America,” he added. “If he goes through with his threat, it will be the first time any royal has ever sued Her Majesty’s Government, and, of course, causes the Queen yet another massive headache at the worst possible time.”

It seems that since Morgan’s article went live, Harry has made good on his threat and filed the lawsuit, according to The Guardian

Public Relations Expert Weighs In

Eric Schiffer, chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, agreed with Morgan’s assessment.

“Harry has forgotten that he cut and run to America and decided to cash out the crown,” Schiffer told Newsweek. “With that comes a loss of title and accoutrements. He’s been banking millions on the back of the royal aura. It’s painfully deluded to think that he should somehow be able to benefit from his own decision to turn his back on Britain and his responsibilities.”

“I think it sends a message that he is out of control and outrageously out of touch. He chose to leave. He chose to cut and run and capitalize on the Crown,” Schiffer continued. “There are responsibilities that flow from that in which to sue is a choice he can make but it makes him look like a child and a whiny one at that.”

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

It’s sad that Prince Harry continues to cause so many problems for his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, particularly since this is the year of her Platinum Jubilee. It’s supposed to be a celebration of her record-breaking 70 years on the British throne.

Harry should be supporting his 95-year-old grandmother during this time, not causing her more stress with lawsuits that really do highlight how hypocritical and out of touch he is.

It’s shameful.
