Candace Owens Minnie Mouse pantsuit Disney Disneyland Paris 30

Earlier this week, Disney announced that one of its classic and most recognizable characters, Minnie Mouse, is ditching her iconic red and white polka dot dress for a blue pantsuit for Disneyland Paris’ 30th-anniversary celebration this year. Minnie’s new look didn’t sit well with conservative media personality Candace Owens, who took aim at Disney in a Fox News interview on Wednesday night.

Candace Owens Takes Aim At Disney Over Minnie Mouse Pantsuit

On Tuesday, Disney unveiled a new look for Minnie – “her very first pantsuit”. The new look is reportedly for Disneyland Paris’ 30th and Women’s History Month.

This departure from Minnie’s traditional style did not sit well with conservative firebrand Candace Owens, who sounded off while appearing on Jesse Watters Primetime.

“I mean look, this is why people don’t take these people seriously,” Owens told Fox News. “They’re taking all of these things that nobody was offended by, acting like they have to get rid of them and destroy them because they’re bored. They’re absolutely bored.”

Owens proceeded to double down by saying that “they’re trying to destroy fabrics of our society,” seemingly referring to the “woke” left.

“They’re pretending that there’s issues so everybody looks over here,” she told host Jesse Watters. “Look at Minnie Mouse! Don’t look at inflation, Jesse. Look at Minnie Mouse. The world is going forward because you’ve got her in a pantsuit. Never mind that you can’t get anything at the grocery store and you can’t buy a piece of bacon unless you’ve got $30 in your pocket.”

Minnie Mouse Debuts Pantsuit Look

Minnie Mouse’s new outfit is meant to mark the start of Women’s History Month in March, and it was designed by the renowned fashion designer Stella McCartney.

I wanted Minnie to wear her very first pantsuit at Disneyland Paris, so I have designed one of my iconic costumes – a blue tuxedo – using responsibly sourced fabrics,” McCartney said, according to Daily Mail. “‘This new take on her signature polka dots makes Minnie Mouse a symbol of progress for a new generation.”

“I am delighted to be working with the one, the only, the iconic Minnie Mouse,” she continued. “Minnie has always had a special place in my heart. We share the same values. What I love about Minnie is the fact that she embodies happiness, self-expression, and authenticity, and that she inspires people of all ages around the world. Plus, she has such great style.”

Social Media Users Sound Off

Candace Owens was not the only person upset by Disney’s new look for Minnie Mouse.

“Way to go Disney, you turned Minnie Mouse into Hillary Clinton,” one social media user commented. Hillary, of course, was known for her power suits and often wore blue.

Another added, “More woke BS. The design’s nice but we’re talking about a character that is almost 100 years old.”

“What’s next, will she transition into a Michael so Mickey can full express himself?” a third user wrote with a fourth suggesting, “Minnie in a suit makes her look like Mickey in a suit.”

Is Minnie’s blue pantsuit just another example of wokeness gone too far? Will this new look backfire on Disney?

More and more consumers are becoming disenfranchised by corporate virtue signaling that they see as “woke” nonsense.

Even Disney may not be able to get away with this one.
